She was only ten years old when she stopped talking, she felt as though everything she said was wrong. People always mocked her and made fun of her. Those were the same people who made her go mute in the first place. Her friends, family, bullies, and strangers were her enemy. When she was eight years old, her parents would yell at her even if she had just said one little thing wrong. She used to have a few friends back then. When she actually talked. But even then she'd be bullied. People at school grabbed her books and threw them on the ground while laughing in her face. They'd tell her she was stupid, worthless, annoying, different, weird, ugly, fat, any insulting thing they could call her in that moment. She was only eight. Her name was Kelly.
At ten years old, their names would become more interesting for her. "Emo", "fag", and sometimes they'd throw in some combinations. Kelly felt helpless, hopeless, abandoned. Her family told her she was worth nothing, they didn't want her. She hated everything and everyone. Her family left her alone when they weren't there breaking her heart. She never loved, and she never thought she was loved.
At twelve, she couldn't believe the names they were calling her. She couldn't believe their names became more creative. It was crazy. She sat alone at lunch, but there was always company surrounding her calling her names. She always ran to the bathroom and cried. The school didn't help her. They didn't care about her.
Kelly soon became really depressed, at the age of thirteen. She started hurting herself. She hid it with long sleeves, jeans, and high tops. She never fit in, but at this point, she wasn't even blending in. She lost all of her friends. At fourteen, she stopped talking in a whole. She only talked at home, reading to herself. Her parents never cared, they had two other kids; sons; to worry about. Her brothers followed what their parents did, yelling at her, always making her do their chores, anything they could get her to do for them.
Now, she is still fourteen, and her heart had been broken. She has had one true boyfriend that lasted nine months. He ended up cheating on her with one of her old best friends. She was heart broken for a long time, cried at school, but people just laughed when she cried. She thought she would never trust again.
