"Andrea, come on! Live a little." My best friend Gwen pestered me as we sat on the carpet in my room, watching Criminal Minds. "Summer has just begun! Don't you want to go outside and enjoy it?" She flopped down on my bed.

"But outside doesn't have wifi... or Criminal Minds for that matter." I joked "Besides, there's legit nothing to do except go to the lame pool. Which you know if green with pee from all the little kids." Gwen shuddered at the thought.

"You're right the pool stinks, but, there is this new book store in town square. But you wouldn't want to go." She stood up and walked over to the door. She knew she had my attention.

"B-Book Store?" I was drooling at the idea, all the glorious books just waiting to be read. The smell of the pages. The feel of the covers. "I'm in. Get your shoes"

"Gwen one, Andrea zero" Gwen fist pumped into the air as we walked out the door.

      ***

The Book store was small but cozy. Multiple black and white pictures of Westview were scattered on pale blue walls. There were cook books, YA novels, coloring books, magazines, diaries, every genera under the sun was in this small, bright store.

"Wow" I whispered, "They have everything." I pondered which section to start in. Since summer had just begun, I thought the summer favorites would be a good spot.

I look through about twenty extremely cheesy romance novels, all of them with the same exact plot line and the same muscular guy on the cover. Not  my style.

"Hey Andrea, did you find anyth- well hello there." Gwen said as she peered down at the book in my hand.

"Oh no no no. I'm not buying this." I felt my face become flushed "But I know someone who will." I shoved the book into her hands and walked over to the Young Adult section. As I turned the corner, that's when I saw it.

"How To Create Your Perfect Summer Bucket List." was written on the front cover in navy blue with a sunshine yellow background. Blue flowers surrounded the title.

"Ok I am not buying that book. No matter how dreamy that guy is on the front cover." Gwen laughed

I picked up the book and stared at the cover, "Do you think I should buy this? I mean you're going to keep pestering me until we do something productive so why not make a bucket list?"

"Andrea Lynn Peterson, you are a genius! Get that book now, buy it, and let's make this the best summer ever!" Gwen said as she danced around in circles.

"Ok Mom" I said as I pulled out my purse to make the purchase chuckling as I did so. Maybe this summer wouldn't be a total flop after all.

***

Gwen and I were walking down the street deciding what would be on our amazing summer bucket list. She wanted to be all daring and mysterious like getting fake a ID and sneaking into clubs , while I wanted to play it safe, and legal, by doing more mundane things such as get every flavor at the local ice cream parlor by the end of summer.

"I'm telling you it would be an amazing experience." Gwen said trying to get me to put her idea on the list.

I scoffed "No Gwen I'm not getting a fake ID. Think of something else."

"Fine, what about...We finish all 11 seasons of Criminal Minds before summer ends?" Gwen shrugged her shoulders when she finished.

"Deal." That was something I could work with.

Gwen and I kept bouncing ideas off each other and after about a hour and a half and a lot of compromising we compiled a list of about ten items. Mostly about binge watching Netflix, going to Lake Ferguson, and getting lots of Ice Cream.

"This summer is going to be-" Someone walked straight into my shoulder "Hey! Watch where your going!" I yelled as I massaged my shoulder.

"Oh, I'm sorry " Sarcasm dripping from his lips.

He turned around smirking and laughed along with his two friends as they walked away. Gwen's jaw was slack, she was speechless.

"D-Do you know who that was?" Gwen asked rushing over to me holding my face shaking it slightly.

"Yeah, some d-bag who walked right into my shoulder, and laughed at me with his d-bag friends" I rolled my eyes in the process

"Andrea, that was the  Parker Reynolds who bumped into you. And his 'D-bag friends' were Elliot Jameson and Will Bradford." She whispered

Then my jaw hit the floor.
