As I laid silently on Remus's lap whilst they discussed their adventures for the night, I came up with a brilliant plan (if I say so myself).
I would say my usual goodbyes, and trot upstairs to my dormitory as normal. I would then tell Lily and the others that I was sleeping with my friend Shauna from Hufflepuff in the Room of Requirement, and pretend to pack my stuff whilst she goes in the bathroom. Then, making sure the boys had left the common room, I would creep downstairs without Lily noticing. I doubt the other girls in the dorm will care. (I don't know why I can't tell Lily, because I did accidentally tell her about Remus's furry little problem, but I just feel it is more stealthy that way.) Anyway, once I get out of Gryffindor Tower, I will continue to make my way to the Shrieking Shack - once I am at there, I will change into my lioness self, and...well, I have no idea what will happen next, I guess we'll see.
The last thing I remembered was silently congratulating myself on my amazing plan, before I opened my eyes to an empty common room.
What?
I glanced over at the clock, and saw it was almost midnight.
"What?" I said, out loud this time.
"You fell asleep, Miss," said Sorry, who was hugging my feet.
Again, what?
"Oh, crap," I said, suddenly remembering my plan, "sorry Sorry, I've got to go." I leapt up and sprinted out of the common room.
It's a bit rude that none of the girls had bothered to check where I was - but, to be fair, I do fall asleep quite a lot.
I raced down the stairs until I saw Peeves, tying something to a podium.
"Bloody hell," I muttered, and hid behind one of the suits of armour nearby. Sadly, neither me nor the suit of armour were very quiet, so Peeves noticed the clashing about as I practically fell into the suit of armour.
"Ooh, is that a wee student out of bed?"
"Shit," I exclaimed, and clamped my hand over my mouth.
Oh, good going, Maisie. Well done.
"A-ha," Peeves grinned, slowly floating towards me. "There's no escapin', I've got you now! FFILLLLCCCCHHHHH!"
I frantically scanned the scene around me for any chance of escape, and almost slapped myself as I saw that I had picked the suit of armour right next to the statue of the One-Eyed Witch.
Ten points to Maisie for her observation skills.
"OOHHH, FILLLLLCCHHHHHHHHH!"
I whipped my wand out from my pocket, and whispered, "Dissendium," while pointing it at the One-Eyed Witch's hump. I heard the patter of a pair footsteps running down the hall, and Peeves flew towards the sound, luckily not noticing the passageway that had now emerged from the hump.
"What is it, Peeves?" I heard Filch grumble, and then a faint meow, whom I guessed to be Mrs Norris. I poked my head out, and, seeing Peeves' attention was elsewhere, slipped out from behind the suit of armour and into the passageway. I quickly shut it, and leant against the cold, stone wall, sighing in relief. Seeing as I couldn't get back out, as either Peeves or Filch would probably be guarding it, I decided to go forward and into Honeydukes' cellar. Luckily, as it was midnight and the shop was closed, I didn't have to worry about hiding from anyone.
"Merlin's beard," I sighed as I pulled on the shop door leading out to the street, and finding that it was locked. I pulled out my wand, muttered "Alohomara," and pulled on the door again, grinning triumphantly as it swung open. I walked outside into the cold, fresh air, locking the door behind me, and stood in the middle of the street for a minute, wondering which way the Shrieking Shack would be. I hugged my thin school jumper to my chest, wishing I had grabbed my robes before I left the common room; I was freezing my womanly parts off in my school skirt. My ears pricked up as the howl of a werewolf echoed around Hogsmeade, and I wasted no time in running in the direction of the howl.
