Chapter 1

The music from the stage rang in Faith’s ears. She was already nervous and the loud music was starting to distract her from concentrating, causing her to have a bad headache. The throbbing of her head made the music seem louder than it actually was as it blast through the large black speakers over her head. She rubbed the temple of her head with her pink and white acrylic nails in an attempt to make it go away before going onto the stage, but she knew it wasn’t going to happen as the aching seemed to get worse. Pulling the drape back and peering onto the stage her eyes watched and her body froze.

This was not her first time stripping at Fantasy Girls Strip Club. The thought of her having to strip for money made her sick to her stomach and her heart race. Small beads of sweat started to form on her forehead as she leaned against the wall. The breeze from the back door opening and closing with strippers running to get ready gave her some sense of relief, breaking her out of the deep trance and bringing her back to reality. The bright lights coming from the stage impaired her vision being the cause of her dizziness. She wiped the small beads of sweat from her head using her clammy hands to be sure Kristen didn’t notice as she came in closer to the back hallway. She knew it was time to go on stage and as much as she needed the money she wasn’t ready. Faith was used to getting what she wanted and stripping was not the way she wanted to get money. Times like this she wished she was still working for Yang Lee and her family at the local Chinese restaurant up the street on Merriman and Five mile, but since the incident they caught her stealing money out the cash register, she wasn’t able to get a decent job. And that was almost a year ago. Apparently once anyone in the hood got a grip on your business, more than likely everyone knew. She was now struggling to do best with what she had. Her body!

“Girl are you ready?” Kristen asked her while fixing her titties and pushing them up in her small black getup she had just bought from Lover’s Lane earlier in the day.

“Yeah! Let‘s get this over with.” Faith said trying to get herself together as she took a deep breath.

Kristen could tell Faith didn’t like stripping, but didn’t bother saying anything because she knew how Faith could be. Feisty! And ready to go head up with anyone at the drop of a dime. Faith didn’t like anyone to say anything to her and she would be dammed if it was negative too. She had struggled her entire life worried about the thoughts of others and letting it shape her, causing her to evolve into someone she wasn’t. She knew people were judging her and as long as she gave into the negative talk and feedback they would never stop. She didn’t have time for people talking down on her, correcting her mistakes or finding imperfections within her. In her eyes she was perfect and that’s the way she liked it. Or at least that’s what she was striving to make herself believe.

Kristen grabbed Faith’s arm pulling her towards the stage. A feeling of anxiety plagued her and her adrenaline rushed.

“Girl hold on, I gotta’ pee first. I’ll be out there.” Faith said  pulling away and breaking free from Kristen’s tight hold. She quickly walked to the end of the hall past the open door catching a cool breeze. The feeling of the cool air on her half naked body instantly gave her gasp on the situation as she inhaled deeply. As she approached the bathroom she looked back to see if Kristen was gone. Not seeing anyone, she walked hurried past the musty smelling bathroom filled with strippers freshening up for their performances and hurried to her locker.
