"You're a piece of fucking trash!"You were trying harder to keep your mouth shut, but it was killing you inside.
"You're the reason your fucking father left me, you fat shit!"
"I'm the reason Dad left us," you snapped at your mother. "Dad left us because you were a whore! You practically slept with any guy who'd give you a dollar!"
Just as a growl escaped from her lips smeared with fading red lipstick from her wild night out, her hand swatted across your cheek. The sound of the wine glass smashing to the ground was the only thing you could focus on as your head overflooded with thoughts.
"Don't you ever speak to me like that again." She snarled and stepped on the glass with her shiny red heels as she shoved past you, "you better clean that up, Darling."
You watched her leave. She walked like she owned the world. Like she thought she was the sun.
I'm glad you left her, Dad. I wished you would've taken me with you, though. . .
Carefully, you tried to pick up the glass without cutting yourself, tearing up a bit, thinking how happy your dad must be without your mother.
You don't know why he couldn't take you with him. Maybe it was because you were too young and he couldn't handle you? You understood. You don't hold it against him. You don't resent him for it. He was a good man, he doesn't deserve any hate from you.You weren't picking up the shards from the ruined wine glass anymore. You were more distracted by your thoughts.
How old did you have to be for him not to leave you?
He couldn't have left because of you, you never did anything wrong.Your eyes were stinging more by the second, and the glass was starting to dig into your palm as your fist were staring to clench. You threw the glass back to the floor before it could fully embed in your flesh and stood, not bothering to shut the door on your way out.
You used the back of your hand to wipe your eyes, afraid to get glass in your eye, and/or blood. Your quiet whimpers were starting to get louder as you were starting to break out in uncontrollable tears.
You weren't afraid of anyone hearing you, and if they did, it was going to be hard to give any shits. Who would be out at this time anyway? You were starting to wipe your eyes more, shaking.
Through your whimpers you could hear footsteps behind you, then a small shuffling of their feet, as if they didn't know where to go. You whipped around, almost immediately being mesmerized by this looks, even if there wasn't much light to see clearer.
"Are you lost?" You whimpered softly, the tear flow slowing down.
"Me? No! I was just," he pointed at himself awkwardly and frantically moved him hands a bit. "You were just crying and. . . I was curious. I wanted to ask and- I'm sorry if I'm creeping you out." He said, scratching his head a bit.
You waved him off and sniffed. "It's fine. It's a bit hard to explain. . . It's also a long story."
"I'd like to hear it, if you wouldn't mind. No one likes to see a girl cry. I was just heading to eat, join me?"
"It's a bit late, no?"
"Well. You know, those late-night cravings." He gave you a small smile, "my name is Jin, I'm a pretty nice guy, let me make you smile?"
"I. . . Even if you're a murder, I've got nothing to l-"
"Eh?" He suddenly got closer and snatched your wrist, looking at your hand, "What happened?"
You just looked at him and he let go.
"Sorry."
"S'fine."
"We're going to the hospital. Period." He grasped the sleeve of your shirt and pulled you.
