It felt hot, you felt like jumping out of your skin filled with embarrassment. "Th-thank..you..." you murmured. He smiled in return but then he seemed to get a bit flustered.
"I actually have a favor to ask of you," he said, rubbing his neck a bit, laughing quietly.
"Yeah?"
"Show me how to bake?"-
Hoseok noticed the faint smell of cigarettes as if Si-young had tried to hide it for you. He pulled off his beanie and stuffed a bit in his pocket so it hung out. He looked around, but didn't touch anything. There was loose change with a crumpled dollar bill, clear framed glasses and an empty vase; all on a black, glass table by a black couch."C'mere." You wave your hand and pulled out a bowl after washing your hands. "We're gonna make cookies."
.
"Jjingjjingi- what's it mean?" Hoseok suddenly asked, drying his hands off.
"Mn..," a small groan left your throat, "Jjingjjingi is a nickname for a girl that whines..."
Hoseok smiled at your mumbling. "That's cute. It really fits you."
You cleared your throat but didn't respond."Erm, Jin told me about your mother. V actually wanted to talk to you but you left so abruptly. I know you didn't notice he was staring, did you?"
You only shook your head.
"I'm sure he would really like to say something. Maybe after we're done you'll accompany me back." His quiet tone sounded unusual, though you haven't known him long. Probably because his smile was so bright. You started to mix the ingredients, looking blankly ahead as he talked.
"Let's make some for him too." You said and gave the mix to Hoseok and pulled out a tray. "You do that and I'll take care of the rest."
The scent of cookies filled the air. Hoseok was crouched by the oven, watching the cookie in the center he had made extra large for himself. "Yah, I can't wait."
You smiled. "You're such a kid."
"Ah, what's wrong with youth?"
"Nothing, nothing. Stay young forever." You patted his shoulder and he grabbed your hand and tugged. You sat on the floor and he smiled. He reached for his beanie and put it on your head. You felt your heart begin to race. He was so close and his smile was angelic.
"You...smell great.." you whispered, blushing.
"You smell better than chocolate cookies." He whispered back, his hand creeping closer to yours.
Your heart seemed only seconds away from jumping out your chest. You cleared your throat and stood.
"When will the cookies be ready? Wait- you don't know, I know- soon!"You pulled off his beanie and put it on the counter. "I'll be back soon, I need to shower. Keep your eye on the cookies."
How embarrassing.
You peeked around the apartment while Hoseok kept starring at the oven, and opened the door to your new room.
The walls were black and everything in the room was in color that complimented each other. The bed was made. Sorta. All your clothes was on the bed, folded. Sorta. Si-young really tried. You laughed, brushing off what just had happened.
Quickly you picked out your clothes and rushed to the bathroom._
Hoseok pulled out the tray of cookies and pulled off the oven mitts. He couldn't wait! He started to pick at the big cookie, even if it was hot. When you came back to the kitchen, you smiled at the sight. It was cute.
You immediately regretted putting your hand on the tray. It was still hot. The worse thing was, it was the hand with cuts.
You didn't scream, but Hoseok did.
You clenched your jaw and let go quickly, feeling tht cuts on your hands sting and the skin on your palm burn. Hoseok immediately grabbed your hand and put it under the faucet, letting cold water flow over it.
He was speechless. He ran his wet hand through his hair, worried.
You squeezed your eyes shut waiting for the water to relieve the burning sensation.
"H-Hoseok, Hoseok, it's not a bad burn but please go to the store and buy some aloe vera lotion or something."
He nodded his head furiously and ran out the kitchen, "I'll be right back!"You turned off the faucet and grabbed a bag of frozen peas from the freezer and held onto it tightly. It wouldn't have been so painful if it hadn't been on the hand with cuts.
The couch took your mind off the pain. Sorta. It was so comfortable you immediately thought of sleep.
Your eyes felt droopy and though you were still clenching the frozen bag of peas, you fell asleep in a matter of minutes. You hadn't slept well in the practice room, it wasn't your fault the couch was so comfortable.
You felt someone tugging your feet and fixing your position on the couch so you were lying down on it right so you fell back to sleep.
It seemed like it was only a few minutes before a cold, wet feeling spread across your fingertips, slowly waking you.
You lifted your head a bit, your eyes half closed as you scanned the room for someone.
Si-young stood, his hands already in his pockets. "You feeling alright?"
You sat up and scanned the room again. "Where's Hoseok?"
"I told him to go since you were sleeping. You shouldn't be alone with strange boys, jjingjjingi." He sat by you on the couch and pinched you softly.
"Yah, he's a friend," You whined, "did he take the cookies at least?"
"What cookies?"
You forced yourself off the couch and to the kitchen. Si-young followed and leaned against the counter.
"You made more cookies?" He asked, tilting his head and adding with a smile, "they were great by the way.""Yeah, sorta. I was teaching Hoseok."
After the bundle was done, you looked out the window. It was dark. Was it too late to take them to him? "I'll be back." You patted Si-young's shoulder but before you could leave, he grabbed your wrist. "It's too late to take him some cookies." He shook his head.
"No its not."
"Yes it is."
"It's not."
"Yah, don't go out at this time. Not without me."
"Then come."
He sighed, looking at you with an annoyed expression. The walk was silent.
You felt like saying something. He was usually only awkward with strangers, not you."Si-young, you alright?"
"Yeah." He said simply.
"Really?"
"Yeah- oh and here," he gave you a small tube of aloe vera lotion, "don't forget to apply this every once in a while. Thank god it wasn't a bad burn."
"Thanks..." you absent-mindedly said, curious if Si-young had been rude to J-hope. "Do you know why Hoseok left without the cookies or just, you know..."
He sighed and bit his lip, looking down, "Don't get mad."
"Huh?"
"I may have been a little mean.."
