********Avery******

I was filing away a patients notes when a small knock sounded from the door. My mother didn't wait for an answer as she walked in, alone might I add. "What? No surprise visits from Wes?"

"Watch your sass, young lady." My mother scolded, standing in front of my desk. "I came to give you a chance to apologize to me."

"Well, that sucks because I'm not going to." I retorted, looking down at an open case.

"Avery Simone," my mother had a warning underlining her high pitched tone.

"Mother," I gave the tone used on me to her. Never had I ever given my mother this much attitude or distain. I had always been the perfect daughter, even if my mother never saw it. "You're behavior was just as bad as mine. You expect me to go marry a man who just happened to meet your requirements over the man I love!" My head felt dizzy and I had to sit, my stomach rolling.

"You can't possibly love him, Avery!" My mother shrieked, oblivious to the sickness that had crawled over my skin.

"Avery? Everything alright?" Harper asked as she walked in, ignoring my mother's death glare.

"I don't feel so well, Har." I gulped and Harper came to stand next to me while my mother rolled her eyes.

"She's fine," my mother huffed. "She always does this when she tries to get out of something." I felt my eyes roll in the back of my head, Harper shrieked, and everything went black as I hit the floor.

*******Slasher******

I had just walked out of the garage, finishing up cleaning the grease from my hands when Sparrow's red Camaro came roaring into the lot. She ran out of her car to where Pierce, Sniper, Cody, and I sat drinking a beer. "What's your rush, Birdy?" Sniper asked but Sparrow didn't pay him any attention.

"Slasher," she took in a deep breath, worry masking her features. "Avery..."

"What about Avery?" I set my beer down and an unnerving feeling settled in the pit of my gut.

"She passed out, she's at the hospital." Everything past in a blur as I climbed on my bike, determined to get to my girl. I didn't pay much attention during the drive and I hadn't noticed some of the brothers had followed until we all pulled into the parking lot. I practically ran into the hospital, scaring the poor nurse.

"Hi, uh, my girlfriend was admitted here a few minutes ago. I'm sorry I scared you but could you show me where Avery Summers room is?" The nurse gave a relieved sigh as she showed me to a room where a woman dressed in a grey suit stood by the door and Harper paced. "Harper?"

"Slash," Harper wrapped me in a hug and I felt like my entire world had been turned upside down. "Doc's checking her out now."

"She has to be okay, Harper." I whispered and Harper squeezed me tight.

"I know," the woman cleared her throat and Harper and I parted, Pierce pulling his Old Lady into his arms.

"Who are you people?" The woman rose an eyebrow, bitterness and disgust clear in her high pitched voice.

"We're Avery's family," I clenched my fists, just this woman's presence pissed me off and I didn't even know her. "Who the hell are you?"

"I am Avery's mother." The woman flipped her blonde hair behind her shoulder, sticking her nose up at us. "I do not think my daughter would appreciate you hooligans standing around her room."

"What would you know what Avery would appreciate?" I asked and she gaped at me. "Avery is my family. She and that baby she's carrying. So, you can go fuck yourself because you don't know a damn thing she would want. Which is a damn shame because aren't you supposed to be her mother?" The doctor came out, all of us turning to him.

"Can I see my daughter now?" Her mother asked after sending me one last glare.

"She doesn't wish to see you, Mrs. Summers." Doc shook his head, "She's going to be okay, dizziness can occur in this stage of pregnancy. We are however concerned for the bump on her head so we're keeping her over night just in case. Other then that she and the baby are perfectly healthy. And she's asking for you, Slash."

"Thank you, Doc." He gave a meek nod before stepping away from the door. I walked in and my heart skipped a beat when Avery turned her head to see me, a smile on her lips. "Hey, sunshine." I kissed the top of her head, intertwining her fingers with mine. "You gave me a heart attack, you know?"

"I'm sorry," she chuckled, drawing a circle on my hand with her thumb. "I should've been watching my stress level. My last client was a little much today then my mother came in and we argued..." My anger grew, her mother was one of the reasons she was in this bed right now. "Hey, Dom, I'm fine." She blinked up at me, kissing the top of my hand.

"That woman is not allowed anywhere near you or our child." I whispered, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.

"We'll talk about it later. It hurts my head too much," she chuckled and I smiled at her. "Doc says that I'm lucky I didn't get a concussion. Apparently, I hit my head pretty hard."

"Yea, well," I sighed, feeling all the worry staring to drawn the life from me. "I'm just glad you two are okay." I kissed her stomach, loving the fact that my child was growing inside of the woman I loved. Shit, I loved Avery! With everything in me, I loved her more then life. Avery giggled as I kissed her flat belly, the one that wouldn't be flat for long but would soon grow with my child. "I can't wait to see you with a baby bump."

"Oh, really?" She smiled as I laid my head on her lap and she ran her hand through my hair. "Why's that?"

"Because you're gonna look damn sexy with my baby in that bump." She laughed, her pearly white teeth showing. I loved her laugh, loved that I could make her laugh. "Get some rest, sunshine."

"Fine," she rolled her eyes before yawning. "But not because you told me to."

"Heaven forbid it was ever because I told you to."
