Bad to Better

As I was about to open the door, I saw Ashton and my brother was sitting in the living room. I didn't even want to take a look of Ashton.

I was still hurt by that other night. I didn't know what to say to him.

I quickly turned away but before I could, my brother called out, "Hey Sarah, Ashton and I were discussing what to wear to a friend's party tonight. Could you be kind enough to help us suggest a bit?"

I'm not even a boy, for God's sake, I thought.

"Sam, I'm not even a boy nor tomboy, ok? Can't you just go and ask your other friends to help you out? Because I'm not really in a good mood today." I sighed.

"What happened in school?" Sam questioned.

"And it's none of your business. Nothing bad happened in school. I just don't want to talk about it. It's too useless to tell it out." I replied and went upstairs to my bedroom.

"Well, tell me if you have difficulties," Sam shouted.

Wow, thanks for that, big bro. Because your stupid little best friend just did nothing and said nothing after I confessed to him. I thought but didn't say it out. I knew it would make it worse if I said it out because Ashton would be hit by my brother, and that's how the "bros" end up. Beating each other up without realizing.

Then there was a knock, I wasn't decided to open it because I knew who it was already.

The door was then opened. It was Ashton. God, why can't he just leave me alone?

"Hey," Ashton said.

"What do you want?" I replied.

"I just came here to apologize for what I said and did the other night." He mumbled.

"You gotta be joking me, Ashton. I don't really care much at all. After what you did that night, my heart is not hurt anymore, because I'm not like other girls who will just cry until they get what they want, ok? I just wanted you to say something over there, but what did I get in return? Nothing. Nothing but speechless. Did you know what I would think since that moment? That you didn't even want to talk to me or even take a glance at me." I explained.

"Yea, about that. I'm sincerely sorry. I just didn't know what to say. I didn't reject or anything about your feelings. I just wanted to think about it." He said.

"No, it's fine. You can go hang out with my bro whenever you want as long as we don't see each other. Because whenever I see you, it reminds me of that night, the most disgusting thing I had ever seen." I swung my hand.

"Wait. What do you mean 'disgusting' ?" He questioned.

"The girl you were kissing that night. She's your gf, Megan. Yea, why not you just forget about what we had just talked about and just move on. Alright?" I said.

"Look, first thing's first. One, I don't have a girlfriend. Second, Megan's just my friend. She has a crazy crush on me, but not me. Third, I did not kiss the girl. She just kissed me out of nowhere. What was I supposed to do? Pushed her away?" He said with a worried look.

You betcha.

"But one of the schoolmates said that you guys were dating." I looked confused. My whole head is such a mess.

"Those are all bullshit. I never liked that girl. She's just an ordinary friend to me. Just like you. But you're special." He finally said.

"Well, for you, it's a..." Before Ashton could even continue speaking his sentence, my lame brother shouted from downstairs.

"Ashton, your mom just texted me. She wants you back at home right now. Right this instance." Sam shouted.

"Yea, I'll be there in a sec," Ashton replied back.

"As I was saying, you're special to me. I can't really tell what makes you special to me, but we'll find out soon. :) Right now, I gotta go back and help my mom out." Ashton said.

"Is it ok if you could give me your phone number so that we could keep in touch sometimes?" I asked.

"Of course. Here it is." He took my phone and punched in his number.

I did the same too.

We then exchanged back our phones.

"So are we all good?" He asked.

"Yea, maybe. I don't know. And sorry for being hush to you just now." I mumbled.

"Nah, it's cool. It's quite normal for girls to do that when they get misunderstood the whole situation. I'll text you once I get home. Bye Sarah." He said.

"Bye." I smiled and said.

Once he was gone, my heart was finally fully recovered. I didn't know what just happened. But out of the sudden, I felt like I just came alive. Maybe this day could get any better already. We'll see whether he'll text me back soon. :)
