We left the neighbourhood in silence. Our hands perfectly slid into each other's. It was only six o'clock but it was starting to get a little cold. Only now was I realising I forgot to lift my own jean jacket. I was stuck here wearing a crop top in weather you could freeze a Popsicle in. I must have started shivering because Wil stopped and looked at me. He ran his hands down the sides of my arms.

'Goosebumps. You cold?' He asked.
'Yeah a little, I'll be okay though.' I said nodding and smiling at him. He shook his head to get the hair out of his face and began removing his jacket. He placed it around my shoulders and smiled. 'There we go, still cold?' He asked.
'All better.' I said as I put my arms through the sleeves. He started walked and I followed. He wrapped his arm around my waist and we turned left.

'So what school are you going to?' I asked trying to spark up a conversation.
'Just Duncan High I think it's called.' He said shrugging his shoulders. I nodded. I go there.
'Have you made any friends?' I asked wandering about his social status.
'Well I have you, that's a start' he said and smiled while I looked up at him. I studied his features from his long long eyelashes to every freckle on his face.

'What?' He said as he noticed me staring at him. I shook my head and we entered the town.

The busy people on the busy streets took up every side of the road. We walked for a couple minutes more in silence as we stopped outside the movies.

'What kinda movies are you into?' He said facing me. I let go of his hand to push my hair out of my face. I shrugged my shoulders and giggled. 'Anything.'
'What about that one?' He said as he pointed to a poster reading Millennium.
I nodded my head again. 'You're sure not very decisive, are you?' He laughed. We walked into the cinema as he held the door open for me. I walked over to the ticket office.

'Can I have two tickets for Millennium please?' I asked politely as I pulled out a couple notes from my back pocket.
'That'll be 11.90 please ma'am.' Just as I was about to lay the notes on the desk Wil refused.
'Hey, hey, I got it' he said.
'Wil, you bought me a coke and gave me a ride in the stormy rain, let me do it.' I said.
He tried to get a word in but I had already exchanged the money for tickets.
'You want some or something?' He asked looking at me again.
'No thanks, I'm not hungry.' I said and smiled. He was so sweet. We were walking to the theatre when he slipped his hand in mine once again. He opened the door for me again and we walked in and took our seats.

'Hold on a second.'

He quickly pushed the armrest up and put his arm around me, pulling me closer to him than I've ever been. I looked up at him.
'I heard it's a scary movie.' He used as an excuse.

The movie ended and throughout the whole thing, I wanted to fall asleep in his arms. He just made me feel protected. We left the movies and stood outside. It was 9:27pm.

'Hey Wil?'
'Yeah?'
'Ever seen a sunset?'
'Not ever.'

I grabbed his hand and brought him up the road where we came. Instead of taking the narrow road, I cut through the Forrest. I grabbed his hand and brought him forward, deeper in. We stopped at the bottom of a steep hill and he looked at me.
'How will we get down from there?' He asked.
'We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.' I said. 'C'mon!'

We reached the top of the seemingly never ending hill and stood there for a minute. I brought him to the opposite side of the hill. It perfectly overlooked the city.

'The sun sets down there,' I pointed to behind the city, 'and rises over there,' I turned around and pointed to the other way. He stared at me in amazement. I sat down on the grass and pulled him down with me.
'You must have done this hundreds of times.' He chuckled.
'My friend River used to bring me to this spot when I needed to get away.' I said as I looked out. He nodded and looked out as well. His arm stretched around my waist and he pulled me closer. He was a really affectionate person. I rested my head on his shoulder.

'Calla, you're something special.'
'Huh?'
'I don't know. I felt something when I met you.'

And with that, we sat in silence as the sun set perfectly over the city and the street lights started popping on one by one. I lay down and pulled him with me. I pointed up.

'The stars are real pretty when it only gets dark.' I said and he propped himself on his elbow. He looked down at me and all around my face with his eyes until they landed on my lips.
'Can I kiss you?' He whispered, gaze not moving from my lips. I smiled and nodded.
He slowly and hesitantly bent down and brought his lips to mine. In that moment my heart was doing backflips and my legs were weak. His hand cupped my face and I broke the kiss to sit up. He looked at me dead in the eyes. And smiled. 'You're beautiful.' I blushed in the dim light of the moon.

He stood up and took my hand in his. I got up and we tried our best to get down the hill. We finally made it and we walked on the path into our neighbourhood.

We entered out street and he stopped outside my house. 'Good night.' He smiled and wrapped his arms around me. He slipped his hands into his pockets and turned to walk away. 'Wil! Wait!' I shouted.

I ran up to him and peeled his jacked off me. 'Thank you.' I said and I kissed him on the cheek.
'Thank you.'
