The doctors dragged me down the same white hallways I had been through earlier today. I began to panic at what was going to happen to me. My imagination roamed with the possible ideas. They could tranquilize me on the spot after what I had done back in the garden. Or they could kill me.
They began to drag me down new hallways. My mind was frantic. I was still squirming under their tight hold on me. Thoughts still raced through my mind. My eyes searched all around me, the area was unfamiliar. Ahead was a plaque next to a door that read "Authorized personnel only". One doctor unlocked the door while the other took both my hands behind my back walking me through the door as if I was a prisoner.
When we walked into the room I noticed a chair in the middle of the room with monitors connected to it. The one doctor walked me to the chair pushing me in it. The other held me down as the other belted my limbs down to the chair. I kicked as much as I could to get away from the chair but it was too late. I was bolted down to the chair. The two doctors walked away from me exiting the room. Here I was. In an unfamiliar room tied down in a chair, alone. My eyes frantically wandered around the room. There was a door to my left and the one in front of me I came in from. The monitor next to me had six wires with patches attached to them at the bottom. I assumed the patches would soon be attracted to me and the monitor would light up with my stats on it.
I was abruptly snapped out of my thought at the sound of a door opening to my left. In walked none other than Raymond Blanks. A smile came across his face. He slowly walked towards me stooping when he was right in front of my chair. I was terrified to say the least.
"I'm terribly sorry that they had to tie you down to the chair like that, but it's mandatory for safety precautions. What's your name miss?"
Maybe he didn't recognize me. Maybe I'd be fine.
"Annaliegh Polar."
"Polar..." He said with a smirk forming at the corner of his mouth. Maybe I wouldn't be ok.
"You know, your parents and I, I guess you could say we're close." The smirk grew on his face.
"Where are they?!"
"They're fine. Currently they are in another hospital."
"Can I see them?"
He looked at me dropping the smirk. His face changed expressions as he began to talk again. It was almost as if he pitted me.
"Sadly you can not. Both your parents, and you as well still have to go through recovery before visiting others. But enough talk about them. Let's get to how you ended up in here."
" So why did you start screaming while in the gardens?"
For some reason I just had the burning desire to punch the man in front of me, but I couldn't because my arms were tied down. I debated wether or not to tell him what actually happened.
"I had a huge migraine, but worse than anything I've ever experienced before. This all started after I took the pill actually." I shifted the conversation and Raymond did not appreciate me slamming the pills that took him years to make.
"I can assure you it wasn't the pills Ms.Polar. Different people react differently to the pills but I would never release a pill that didn't work. What most likely happened is your brain wasn't used to the element that reduces negative thoughts and produced more dopamine."
"You said this pill was only for quick recovery, why didn't you mention anything about that in the meeting?"
He walked closer to me pulling up another chair to sit beside me.
"Telling that much information to someone can cause much distress. Then they'll end up not understanding the actually effect of the drug and end up not taking it and missing a perfect opportunity to recover using the newest medical advancement in history."
His hands moved towards the wires hanging from the monitor. His thumb moved over the patches. He observed the wires closely. I was still processing his insight when he began to speak again.
"You're here because the pill didn't work for you. We saw your melt down in the gardens. Like I said before different people process the pill differently than others, we've just never had it not work on someone before."
The thought brought chills to me. I was the first reject. Now they are going to test me, to see why I'm defective.
"So what are you going to do to me?"
"We're just going to see what happens in your brain and how it reacts to the pill."
He then slowly grabbed all the wires and one by one placed the patches across my fore head. He then got up and turned the monitor on. The stimulators started to buzz with electricity sending a chill down my spine. My body went numb and I no longer felt anything. My eyes closed at the sensation.
I wasn't sure how long I had been in the chair till I opened my eyes and looked at the clock above the door. It was 5:07. I had been in there for an hour and a half. I turned to my left and there sat Raymond. It scared me a little and he noticed as well. I wondered how long he had been sitting there.
"Good to see your awake. We've collected all the information we needed from you. Once we get you out of the chair you can join everyone else for dinner."
The patches were gently removed from my forehead and the monitor was tuned off. Now I wished I know what they were testing me for in my brain. I didn't trust Raymond. I didn't trust the tests. I didn't trust the pills.
Once I was free from the chair Raymond ordered the same two doctors who tied me down to take me to dinner. I walked down the hallways with a doctor on either side of me. Was this how my life was going to be?Meant to upload this yesterday but hope you liked it! Next chapter we'll get back to the group at dinner. Comment what you want to see happen in the future as I have ideas of what I want to happen but I'd love to know what you'd want to see!
