(This is an extract from my novel "BackStage". I have omitted some parts to make it more reader friendly. I do not how ever write very unhealthy parts, but just in case. This is dedicated to all the Niall girls and it is written in the reader's perspective so you can enjoy more.)

Over You - Ingrid Michaelson

'Get me another.' Placing the beer on the coffee table Niall walked pass the waiter towards the row of glass windows. The small room next to the reception was empty when he first stepped in. And it remained the same.

I hate parties!! His sub conscious kept on screaming the same line. At the end of his work, he got to hear about a party and there was no way he could not attend it. Paul dragged him and insisted to mingle around, but he was lucky enough to notice Paul join with his buddies so Niall could escape to a place with silence and zero human flesh.

It was night and the room was no brighter and glad of the dim lightings. While sipping the newly brought beer, he stared down at the busy streets. The heavily jammed streets and the burning tower lights around the city were trying to ease off the grimness. The mash up music was secretly sneaking into the room, but it was not a bother. The lifeless room filled with coldness relaxed his body, but his mind has run a long way.

'Sir, you are expected at the party.' The young boy who served Niall's beer distracted his peace. The boy was carrying his tray in one hand and was holding the door handle by the other. He has no intention of leaving as Niall suspect this was an order from Paul and he was determined to take Niall with him.

'Leave me!' A grim tone made the boy panicked. Timidly he walked away.

With his departure, Niall hid himself within the shadows he was strangled with and focused back to the streets. He raised the glass to finish his drink, but a flinching image through the window made him stop at once. To his right was the entrance to the restaurant. And there he saw a girl in a blue dress ran straight from the doors to halt on the pavement. Although it was gloomy, the lights near the entrance have terminated the darkness completely letting him capture every single detail of that area.

Niall lowered his raised glass and leaned forward to get a good look at this particular person. She was panting, but in the middle of the pavement, she did something crazy that only in movies you could see. She let go of her crossed arms and hold them on the air to make a straight line like a cross. With a deep breath, she raised her head up and closed her eyes. She was inhaling all the love in the air. Watching her from far away, all Niall could ponder the fact that she acts like she's the only one left on this planet. A cute smile ran over her lips. A strange movement covered Niall's face. He ran his hand on his lips.

'Am I smiling?' he thought.

A sting of pain speared his heart, with a revelation.

'(Y/N)?'
