Walking down these white halls for the very last time filled me with triumph. Others gawked as I walked by, finally wearing my normal clothes and not the horrible sweats they made everyone wear.

I held my head high, six damn months, a waste of time, but I was free now.

"Here's your possessions, Mrs. Sage." The lady who sat at the desk behind glass slid me a plastic bag with my wallet and cellphone in it

"See you around." I laughed, exiting the ward

Nobody helped me past this point.

Freedom, freedom, freedom!

The familiar, kind face of my Grandmother greeted me at the lobby

"Brandy! Look at you! How are you deary? I gave my grandmother a hug, I had missed her

Throughout my time here, she was the only person I missed. The only one I knew I could care about after I left this place. I wouldn't be capable to trust anyone enough, to ever love or care about them. The only person in my life I needed was my Grandma

"Let's go home." She said

I nodded and finally left, smelling fresh air that I hadn't gotten a taste of in so long.

I was finally going home.
