A lean silhouette of a dog flew into Fawn's view when she picked her head up again. The dog shoved Cash into the wall, and a loud crack was heard. It wasn't thunder. More quieter cracks followed the noise, and that's when Fawn realized. The wall is crumbling. Fear made Fawn regain herself, and Buck helped her off of the slippery ground. They quickly traveled back to the pack, and turned around to witness the wall leaning over Cash and the other dog. Fawn recognized the build of the other dog. It was Copperhead. The wall made a few more crumbling noises before slamming down on the two dogs. A giant boom was heard, louder than thunder. Then... dead silence. Tension was replaced with shock. And after a few moments, there was a small howl.

Fawn looked over to see Avis letting out a small howl to the sky. It wasn't a sound of sadness, but more of gratitude. She was thanking Copperhead for saving Fawn's life. A few more howls joined in, and the noise belonged to Angel, Dusty, and Axel. Fawn could hear April, Mei, and Paisley add to the mass of notes. The Pharaoh Hound perked her ears at the sound of pawsteps. It was Captain, who must've followed and watch what had just occurred. He too, let out a raspy howl. Fawn sighed, and tipped her muzzle to the sky. She closed her green eyes and released a howl that was building in her chest. Fawn howled over the rest, showing how grateful she was for Copperhead's sacrifice. Despite being the enemy, there was good in Copperhead's heart. Ace, Buck, and the rest of her pack joined her. The tune lasted for a long time as the rain slowed to a halt and the clouds cleared to reveal an infinite amount of stars and a bright, full moon. It lit up the place, allowing everyone to see one another clearly, "He's gone..." Dusty murmured, "Cash has been defeated."

"And if he's dead..." Axel looked to a white dog, "that makes Angel our new leader," Angel only nodded.

"Mommy..." Avis sulked over to her mother, her white pelt slightly orange around her legs, "I'm... I'm sorry..."

"Don't be, dear..." Angel nuzzled her daughter, "we are free now. You will not be punished for doing the right thing."

"What about the other pack," Avis focused on Fawn.

"They are free, too. They helped us escape Cash. Now, we can live in harmony," Angel padded over to Fawn, "thank you for freeing us."

"Don't thank me, really. You should get back to your home, your pack needs you now," Fawn answered.

"You're right. Just remember, you will always be welcome," with that, Angel and the other three turned around to leave.

"Wait!" Avis turned around and ran up to Marley and nuzzled his leg, "goodbye. I will miss you."

"I will miss you too," he replied. Avis smiled up at him and returned to Angel, who led them away, "Fawn... are you alright?" Fawn looked to her right to see Ace next to her, looking at her shoulder in worry.

"Of course!" Fawn let Ace rest his head on top of hers and the two smiled in relief.

"I... I wanted to ask you something," he pulled from her, allowing Fawn to stare into his blue, moonlit eyes.

"You have shown all of the qualities of a good leader... and, a beautiful mate. I want you to be the alpha female of this pack," Fawn widened her eyes and gasped.

"Ace..." she breathed as a smile grew on her lips, "I would be honored," cheers from the other pack members rose up into the night as Ace licked Fawn's cheek. A new feeling that Fawn had never felt before bubbled up inside her. This feeling of closeness and happiness and content, all mashed into one. Love. The pack gathered, laughing and chatting, just being what a pack should be. Happy. And after hours of being in that state, a light rose between the skyscrapers in front of the dogs. They all lined up, side by side as the sunrise presented it's beauty in an array of warm colors. Fawn's pelt reflected the colors, making her tan coat shine. It reminded her of when she first joined the pack, just as a loner that had nobody but herself. And now, she's an alpha. Now... she knows the feeling of what it's like to be in a pack. To be one.

To be whole.
