My feelings was so slow, that I couldn’t tell if I was in love or not. I was dumb with others feeling; it’s my enemy, aside from Leon, I wish it was easy to break someone’s heart.
“Calvin, can you hand me the phone?” Waters asked. I handed her phone which was sitting on the table. “Thanks,” she murmured and continued eating her food.
“So what are we supposed to do?” Clement asked as he tried to tap the table near my foot. I shrugged, she did the same. “Guys, school is starting for like one hour or less and we do nothing,”
“Whatever Clement you can kill yourself though,” Waters replied and took a mouthful nacho. Clement let out a big sigh and went out the room. “The air is suffocating me,” he closed the door, the air was good.
“Sometimes he’s brain is not working.” Waters is mean sometimes, but most of the time she’s fragile and alone. I nodded, “I guess you’re right,” I agreed.
“You should always agree on me Calvin or else your life will be crap like mine,” she stated.
I was wondering if she really means it, she was crap so I need to agree on her and my life will not be crap? “I don’t understand?” I replied.
“You’re crap,” she answered and went outside following Clement. “We need to go to school and smoke.” She wore her favorite leather jacket that hangs on the back of the door.
“But I don’t smoke Waters,” I informed her and ran out.
I make sure the door was locked and all the appliances were turned off so Mom would not pay large bills.
“Hey,” I waved at them but they kept on walking. “We can take the bus,” I recommended.
Clement moves his lips as if he was trying to tell me something and stopped. “I said I’ll tell you something so come here.” He clarified and sits his arms on my shoulders.
“So what will you say,” I said under my breath.
“It’s about Waters,” He took a glance at Waters who was ahead of us. “You can really tell she’s mean this morning, you observed?” I nodded. “It’s because of books.” That really got my attention.
“Like our textbooks and she failed?” I asked.
“No, you idiot Waters doesn’t care about her scores.” He admitted and took another glance at Waters; she looked back at us and walked again.
“As I said, she’s mean today because of a book, she cried yesterday night.” He whispered. “That’s why she’s very stupid today.” He ended as he ran towards Waters.
“But what book is it?” I looked at the ground, hot and rough. “Hey wait for me.” I waved at them and ran as fast as I can.
School was pretty close but Mom likes me to ride a bus and I can’t say no to it. But glad to see Kasia still riding the bus. Kasia was my best friend who moved to downtown because of her father’s work. It really broke my heart when they leave because she’s my only friend.
“We are late.” Clement informed as he looked up from his watch. Waters didn’t hesitate to run ahead of us. “Wait for us Waters!” He called and held my elbows dragging me. “Hurry up.”
“Yeah.” I answered.
Clement and I was able to keep up with Waters, I think she was very depressed or something. She keeps on brushing something near her eyes.
“Tell us.” Clement brushed away her fringes and I saw a tear falling down. Clement’s eyes were just the way it is round and brown. “So tell us what it is and what book?” He suggested while I pat Waters.
“I love he... her bu...t,” She said but I can barely understand what she’s saying so we went inside a shop across where we stop. “I’m scared.”
The 7/11 was very cozy that I could sleep in there and live in there. Lucky for us there were no people aside from the crews and us. I ordered coffee for the three of us and some foods. “Thanks.” Waters said as I handed her the coffee as well as Clemet.
“She killed her and her but at least Tobias still breathing.” She shared and stops crying, a little bit. “It’s the allegiant book and Tris died.” She confessed and rests her head onto Clement’s shoulder. “That’s why I’m crying.” I keep on patting her back.
“It’s okay but at least they’re not real people.” He said. I don’t know if he was helping because Waters started crying again and it just makes me want to die. I glanced at him secretly saying, “Tell her it’s a joke.”
He nodded. “I’m just joking, you’ll be okay at least Tobas is still alive.”
“It’s Tobias idiot what Tobas?” She corrected and showed her genuine smile. “Who name someone Tobas?” She just started to be herself again, the Waters that I met, happy, idiot, and a girl with many positive vibes.
“Let’s go to school.” Waters suggested and we exited the shop.
A cup of coffee and some friends is what I need.
