Akumu screamed and tried to tug her leg out of the man's grasp but it was no use. His grip was like iron on her skinny ankle. He tugged and she tumbled down the cliff where one of the Vikings caught her.

"Hello there missy," He said grinning. It was amazing she thought how he could show every single one of those yellow teeth even when he wasn't talking. Akumu flailed around, trying to shake him off her.

"Someone tie her up," growled the man holding her. Hands, rough and leathery reached out towards her. Akumu felt her hands being pulled backwards as a thick rope bound them tightly together. She tried to kick out at the men since her hands were now useless behind her back but the men just laughed and stepped out of reach. The next thing Akumu knew she was walking with the other men to the ship anchored on the north shore. She was hauled over the railings by some of the men then sat waiting by the mast. She could see her sister running along in front of the men as the ship sailed out of the cove and out into the endless blue ocean. A large man with blonde hair and beard stepped towards her. She backed away from him but he just laughed.

"I'm not hurtin you," he said. "I'm just goin ta untie that rope that be on your wrists."

"Aren't you worried I'll run away?" Asked Akumu without thinking. He laughed.

"Are you really thinkin of jumpin over the railin and swimmin 100 miles to your island?" he said sarcastically. Akumu lowered her head and didn't say anything. She let him untie her without complaint and then sat quietly against the mast for most of the morning. A loud shout awoke her from her daydream.

"Storm! A storm be coming and it looks big!" shouted one of the men up near the bow of the ship. The other men rushed to where he was standing and peered into the distance. Akumu raised her head and looked in the direction the storm was apparently coming from. A blazing red sun sat above the horizon with grey clouds circling it like a tiger getting ready to pounce. She stood up and walked cautiously to the bow, trying not to draw too much attention to herself. Just as she was about to step up to see what was happening a huge, grey shape ran past her and knocked her to the floor. She pushed herself up hurriedly then looked around to see what had happened. A large, grey dog was sitting under the mast, looking at her with his Emerald green eyes. The storm Forgotten Akumu wandered over to the dog and bent down in front of him. He stuck his tongue out and licked her nose. She laughed.

"I see you've found Chase." Akumu jumped and whipped around to see who had spoken. It was the blonde man. She looked at him suspiciously.

"The storms goin ta be here soon so Gunnar as told me to tie you to the mast," He said.

"Why do you have to tie me to the mast?" Questioned Akumu

"So the waves don't wash you over the railins," He said casually.

"You mean they actually come aboard the ship?" She said in disbelief.

"What do you think," He said grinning. Akumu let him tie her tightly to the mast and then sat there with Chase for some time.

"The storm's here!" Shouted the same man who had announced the storm before. The crew rushed to take their positions. Akumu looked around nervously. Then the first wave hit the ship.
