Vampiric Zombie Queen

   I don't remember what my life used to be like before the already shitty world went down the toilet of doom. My hair flows down the length of my back and past my ass, two different colors. The underneath of my hair was red and the top blonde. How I managed to dye my hair in such an epic way during the apocalypse, I have no clue. Now, when I say apocalypse, I don't mean necessarily the kind with Zombies everywhere and whatnot, but more like the entire world is under the dictatorship of a Vampire Queen whom uses black magic to create and use zombies as her soldiers.

   I've had the Incredible Honor (👈 sarcasm) of seeing Her Highness in person a few times. There are few in this world with the power to fight back against her, but none can do it alone. The Queen knows this. So she has made it her business to hunt down those few and either kill them, use them, or absorb their power. What used to be several thousands of these people has now become a couple hundred.

   My mom and I are two of those. The Queen also knows this. She wants to take our powers for her own, whether that be through absorbing it or using us though are two completely different things. She's come by our house a few times to try to negotiate, but each time we refuse, she leaves a large sum of Zombies for us to deal with, knowing full well that our powers can't be used to kill, even if they're already dead.

   Me and my mom however, have found a loophole.

   Though we cannot kill someone, we do have the power to enchant items with special spells. The smaller the item, the less power it takes, but that also means that we can make it even more powerful than we could a larger item. We've created a spell that comes in handy for these troublesome Zombies. We learned to enchant rings with enough power to grant a wish. That in itself is something only experienced priests and priestesses should be able to do. We only use these rings in case of emergencies for they only grant one type of wish;

   To wish someone a safe distance away, whether living or dead.

   How it works is you put the ring on and concentrate. This wish can only be used to move one person at a time, and the ring only grants one wish, therefore, each ring is equivalent to one person/Zombie. You also can't just wish the Zombies away, you have to be specific. You have to have the Zombie of your wish in your mind's eye and wish them away by miles. Trust me, we know it's a pain in the ass that we can't just wish them back to Hell where they belong, but we're working on it. Just enchanting one ring with enough power to accomplish this small task takes a whole week of spellcasting and meditating. And that's with using both of our powers at THE SAME TIME. Could you imagine how long it would take to do something like this on our own without each others help??

   Either way, we have a tub full of these rings. It's not very big, but that's a lot more rings than what we had at the beginning of all this, which was absolutely zero in case you're wondering.

   Now, another pain-in-the-ass fact about these rings are they're similar to a genie. They find loopholes themselves. Say someone you love is in trouble, being attacked by a Zombie, and you try to wish the Zombie away but the whole time, your mind is filled with worry for your friend. Unless you clear your mind of that worry.... You could accidentally wish your friend away instead. Which brings up problem number three. You can't wish someone back to you. You can only wish away, and even then, the one you're trying to wish away has to be in the same general area as you.

   Unfortunately, I learned that the hard way.. Me and a woman I had met were hanging around her house one evening, talking about her baby on the way. Her husband was killed by the Queen when she tried to take his wife because her baby was beginning to show signs of having powers. After this happened, the poor woman came to me and my mom, seeking help and protection. I took on the responsibility of protecting her. Being the Earth Element, it was easier for me to draw power up from the Earth to use for protection spells, unlike my mom with her Fire Element.

   Well, as the talk shifted to the possibility of the child's powers, the Earth began to shudder like an earthquake, but, as I said earlier, I am the Earth Element, and I could tell this was not natural. A few seconds later, my assumptions were proven true when Zombies crawled out of the ground. They ignored me and headed straight for her. For Amanda. They were the same as any other Zombie, so, to me, for them to have a set goal confused me. Then I saw their eyes. Zombies typically have dead, foggy, glazed over eyes. These Zombie's eyes were clear and seeing.

   They could comprehend actual thoughts. When I screamed and yelled for Amanda, I felt the hands of the dead grip my arms tightly, holding me back. I glared up at them and in turn, they grinned at me. It struck a spark of unfamiliar terror in my heart, followed by dread and helplessness. One of the zombies grabbed Amanda. I had to act fast. Breaking one arm free from the steely grasp, I pulled the ring out of my pocket and slid it on my finger. As I closed my eyes, I felt tears as Amanda screamed for me. For my help. With all my might, I tried to wish away the Zombie, but the only person's face in my mind was Amanda's. Suddenly, her screaming sobs stopped. I opened my eyes, grinning, thinking I had saved her, but, the one left standing was was a very confused and startled Zombie.

   The last I heard of her, she was found and killed by the Queen.

   Now, the Queen herself is a hauntingly beautiful woman, though her eyes and smile are corrupt with evil. Each time I have seen her, her appearance has been different. The first time I met her, she had flowing fiery blue hair that went all the way to her ankles, bright purple eyes, and thin lips. She was around six feet tall and had a trim body, she also seemed to be around her early thirties. The second time I saw her, she had shoulder length blonde hair and bright green eyes. She was shorter and more round and appeared to be no older than nineteen. The only thing that stays the same in her appearance is her grey skin, corrupt with her black magic. When she rose her army of the dead, she was cursed with that skin so all will know who she is.

   She wears it like the robes of an emperor. Though it may be grey, it is still fair and smooth, which just adds to her beauty. She uses this same beauty to catch her prey. Now, the thing I've noticed most out of everything else is the pendant she wears on her neck. A bright glowing green emerald. It is said that that necklace is the source of all her power and if it were taken and broken, all the vengeful souls of whom she has killed will devour her body and she will be left as nothing but a pile of ash and dust. We of the Rebellion plan to do just that.
