2 hours and a lot of shots later, I'm on a table chugging a bottle of Tito's. Wait- how did I even get up here?
"Wow, Jennette, from this angle your ass looks hot!" I scream, bending down low to show off my own. I think someone smacked it.
"Okay you in-the-closet-lesbian, let's get you home," I hear her muffled voice grab me by the arm as she helps me step down from the table.
It's my first night here and I am already making friends! I mentally flip off Sadie and my ex boyfriend. I need to get back at them somehow- maybe send them a package of dog shit? I laugh out loud thinking about it.
A familiar deep voice booms in front of me. "Whatcha laughing at, Rea Rea," Cali-boy asks, clearly sober, probably pretending to drink hard liquor out of a water bottle.
"None of your freakin' business handsome Cali boy," I replied, wobbling as I remove my shoes. AHHH, that feels a lot better. I think I have blisters on my feet now.
I sit down on the nearest chair trying to regain my balance. As I do so, I hear the two conversing, or more like fighting, over who should take me home. I think Cali-boy wins the argument because he takes my hands- yes, hands, and leads me to the front door. Did I mention that I'm shit-faced?
"Woah, woah, don't take advantage of me now," I sputtered, smacking his arm in the process. "I don't even know you; why are YOU walking me home? Where is Jennette?"
"She's got problems of her own," he replied, a dark look crossing over his face. I immediately stop talking and stand still.
"Wait, wait... isn't there a saying like, 'secrets secrets are fun so share with everyone'?" I slurred, waiting for a reply. I observed his manly stance as he rubbed his forehead with his palm. I could hear the crickets in the distance creating a harmony, as the bay made lapping noises.
"Not my place to tell you about it," he says, gesturing me to walk on. Instead, I plop on the grass. It's nice and warm out, and the grass blankets me. Mother nature is my homie.
"Alright, the hard way it is," he says, bending down to hurl me over his shoulder. I squeal as I am suddenly upside down, slung over this random guy's shoulder. Hey, at least he has a nice ass!
In a matter of seconds I'm on my aunt's front porch with this random guy next to me. Did I ever get his name?
He turns around to head back to the party house.
"Wait," I say reluctantly as he turns his head. "What's your name?"
There is a long pause before he answers. "Zach," he replies with a hint of amusement in his voice.
And with that, I stumbled up to bed and drifted into a haze of sleep, seeing the stars and feeling as if the warm bay is beneath me.
