The Miracle

Loni's POV
I can't believe that The Next Voice is happening today! I've been practising my song ever since they've announced it would happen in a few days. I wonder who else is going to audition for it in 5/6T. I went running over to Aunchi at lunch and shouted at her so I could get her attention. "Aunchi!" I cried. She saw me and we fist bumped each other. "Are you going to audition for The Next Voice today?" I asked.
"Yes. My song is going to be Uptown Funkytown. What are you going to sing?" She answered.
"I'm singing my favourite song, Try Everything!" I replied cheerfully.

I was about to talk about how amazing it was when I was interrupted by Cayne. "You're singing Try Everything right? Yeh! That's a lame song. You won't have any chance of getting any points let alone getting a place. And my awesome song will definitely beat yours." He boasted.
I felt like he was right for a second but then Aunchi cheered me up. "Don't listen to that jerk. Your song will be amazing."
Wise words from Aunchi, definitely. "So. If you think you can beat me, what's your amazing song?" I inquired.
"It's called One Dance. Don't judge." He replied. We all went our separate ways when the bell rang. Riiiiiinnnnngggg!

We lined up and then I saw Tanya, my best friend. I said hi to her and she said hi back. "Are you excited for The Next Voice that's happening today? I am." I answered. Tanya replied,"Yes I am. I wonder what order the auditions will be in."
Soon after our class 5/6T was called to go to class. Once everyone reached class, they started talking about The Next Voice.

Kaitlin's POV (didn't expect that did you)
Hi. So I'm one of Loni's friends and I'm really happy for her. She's really good at singing and I think she'll have a good chance of coming first. Too bad that Cayne's participating in The Next Voice, he's considered redundant in the competition in my opinion.

Anyway, I went up to Loni and asked,"What song are you singing? I'm singing Hall of Fame."
"I'm going to sing Try Everything." Loni replied. In my opinion it was a good song. If anyone sang One Dance it would be mediocre. "Everyone. We are going down to the New Hall in five minutes. Anyone from our class who is going there go down to the New Hall now. Raise your hand if you are." Miss Delia announced. Cayne, Loni, Tanya and I raised my hand up. All four of us sauntered out of the classroom and heading to the New Hall.

"You won't have a chance against my awesome song Loni." boasted Cayne. I got annoyed so I went up and replied, "Your 'awesome' song is One Dance right? Well I wish you break a leg, literally."
"Oohhhhh! You just got roasted!" Tanya and Loni both replied. I high fived Loni and Tanya. Best revenge plan ever.

Tanya's POV
I'm so excited for this. Cayne even signing up for this is stupid! But I'm glad that Loni signed up for this. This is the best day ever. I was chatting to Loni a bit while we were walking to the new hall. About one minute after we were talking, we reached the new hall. This truly is the best day in my life.

Cayne's POV

I can't believe Loni the loser, signed up for this. Weird of her to, but it has already happened. Anyway, I'm singing my favourite song, One Dance. We met up with one of the judges, Mrs Miller. She's so nice. She said that we have five minutes to practise our song and then the audience comes. There were some other kids from Stage 3. People from 5T or 6Cc. There were other people but I didn't know their class.

(5 minutes later)

The audience is coming! I'm prepared for this. Mrs Miller, Mr Taska, Mrs Hudson and Mr Sherlock went over to their tables to judge the performances. Mrs Miller took the microphone and shouted, "We will start now. We will clap at the end of each performance. First up is..." The person took the microphone and started singing when the judges said go!

(Many performances later)

There have been ten performances and I still haven't had my turn. "Next performer is Cayne!" Mrs Miller shouted into the microphone. It was finally my turn. I took hold of the mic and found that Aden (my best friend) along with many others were cheering for me. "What song are you singing?" Mr Sherlock interrogated. I said One Dance and then the judges did the countdown. I took a deep breath and sang.

Loni's POV
Cayne's performance just ended. To be honest it was good. I'm a bit nervous. "How do you like your style now hey?" He replied. I rolled my eyes. "Awkward." Mrs Miller took the mic and said, "Its time for Loni's performance!" There weren't as much cheers for me as Cayne's one but I still didn't get shaky. The judges did the countdown and I started. I took a deep breath and started singing, the best I could.

After my performance, people cheered. That was actually the last performance. "We will make a decision and let you guys know in the messages." The judges replied.

Cayne, Tanya, Kaitlin and I went back to class. "Save the best till last people always say. Yours was fantastic Loni." Tanya commented. "Thanks. Your Uptown Funkytown was awesome!" I said. Almost immediately we got the results from the messages on the telephone. "So in third place is Amirah! Second place is Cayne..." Cayne and Aden slapped hands with each other. Second place, not bad I mumbled to myself. "First place goes to..."

... Loni!" I stood there shocked. I never believed I would have actually gotten it! The best day of my life is officially today.
