Blackpink [Hangul: 블랙핑크; styled as BLACKPINK or BLΛƆK PIИK] is a South Korean girl group formed in 2016 by YG Entertainment. The group consists of four members: Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa. They are a multinational group, with members hailing from South Korea, Australia, Thailand and New Zealand.
On June 1, 2016 YG Entertainment began to post a teaser image of group debut. Each week a member, starting from the believed to be leader of the group, Jennie, who previously collaborated with artists of the same agency revealed. On June 8, it was revealed to be Lisa, the mysterious girl who surprised many with a YouTube video uploaded on the channel of the agency itself.
On June 15, they revealed the third member Jisoo, the oldest of the group, who modeled for various brands and appeared in several music videos and made a cameo appearance in The Producers in their pre-debut stage. On June 22, Rosé was revealed to be the last member, who collaborated with G-Dragon in 2012 showing her powerful voice with the song "Without You".
Finally, on June 29, YG Entertainment revealed images with the four group members previously revealed, confirming that the group consists of four girls: Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa.
