William approached the cave cautiously, the darkness of night serving as his cover was doing little to soothe his nerves. He wasn't afraid of being caught by some other nocturnal supernaturals, in fact two demons were guarding the cave he was standing in front of right now. No, he was wary of what was inside the cave...or rather, who.

The two guards, demons at the look of it - She always seemed to loved demons - didn't spare him a glance as he walked past them. In fact, they were as still as statues. It was an obvious sign that they were under Her control, not to mention their black, unseeing eyes.

After he was inside, the two demons moved mechanically. They pushed a stone in front of the cave's opening, either to seal enemies out or...to seal him in.

"Oh William? Is that you?" A singsong voice echoed up to his ears, and he cringed. He knew that She knew damn well it was him, but Her games were never ending. "Come here, darling." She continued. Instantly the command took its effect, and William found himself walking deeper into the tunnel, deeper into the very earth, with or without his consent. At this point, he didn't even bother to fight it.

"The human boy did not come to report to me tonight as planned. Care to inform me as to why?"

There She was, sitting leisurely on an extravagant bed, which was just one of the sparse furnishings taking up the spacious cavern William had walked into. In Her hand She held a wineglass, filled halfway with a liquid that was so dark it could have been blood. Her fingertip traced the edge of the wineglass casually. William knelt on the ground quickly.

"The squadron that was sent did not provide an adequate enough distraction this time, so it seems Mistress." William started. He kept his eyes averted respectfully, but one quick glance told him She was watching him, waiting for him to continue.

"Maria saw the boy disappear into the forest and intervened."

"And the squadron?"

"Completely destroyed."

"I was quite surprised when her command overtook my own." Her hands clenched around the handle of the glass, but her face still remained passive. "However, it will not happen again. Because the next time I come into any form of contact with that disgusting halfling-" She threw the glass to the ground, the glass shattering and the wine - if it had been that - soaking into the ground quickly.

"Gather a bigger squadron. It must be large enough to distract those simpletons she has with her until you lead her here. Understood?"

"Yes, Mistress." The demon stood to leave to do as he was commanded to, but She interrupted him one more time.

"Oh and William, I get ever so lonely down here. Maybe you could come and... cheer me up?" If that wasn't an obvious invitation, She laid back on her bed, wiggling a finger at him in an almost mischievous manner.

This time William was definitely unwilling, but his feet moved on their own as the command took over his exhausted brain. He could fight Her commands no more.

"As you wish, Mistress."

After Finny had been safely brought back and settled into his room once more, Maria headed to her own room. Even though Sebastian had told her that new demons sometimes sleep as part of a transition from human to demon, since humans were used to sleeping, he never mentioned how long it would last. She thought it odd that she still slept mostly, but for now she blamed it on her back, even though it was nearly healed.

She had just finished changing into a nightgown when there was a knock at her door and Sebastian entered.

"Hi," Maria whispered, not really sure how to start the conversation. Sebastian did.
