She stared at the photo on the wall not sure what to do. A sigh left her mouth as she looked back down at her feet. She couldn't believe her grandma was not with her anymore. She was the only one who made her feel loved, who understood her. She had basically taken care of her since she was a kid. It was hard losing the one's you love. Cancer sucks.

Her alarm rang and she got up, grabbing her suitcases. She had been living with her grandma for the past 3 years. Her parents? Oh no they aren't dead, they are just too busy to care.

Locking the door felt weird. Even leaving the house without grandma by her side felt weird. She twisted the key one last time, locking away all memories along with the house.

She quickly wiped the tears that had involuntarily escaped. She had lost her grandma and on top of that, she had to go back to her parents and live with them until she turned 18. It was just a few months but it would be one hell of a time.

She continued to walk the corridor of the apartment complex, dragging her suitcase behind her. She handed the keys and the rent money to the manager, who was right in the lobby and proceeded to move out.

She had made sure to parcel the important and heavy stuff yet was left behind with these heavy suitcases.

Ride to the airport just didn't feel right. The fact that her parents didn't even come to attend her grandma's funeral saddened her.

She got off at the airport. It was freezing cold. It was around Christmas time but surprisingly enough there weren't many people at the airport.

She finally sat down in the waiting area after what felt like hours of going through security check. She glanced up at the TV and continued eating the snacks that she had just bought.

"The blizzard that was expected in 35 hours might be here sooner than you think. Authorities have requested the residents to stay inside and to not get out at any cost after the next few hours", the news reporter continued.

I will probably be home by then, she thought to herself.

"Attention passengers! Flight 707 from Chicago to Florida has been delayed 3 hours due to some technical difficulties. We are sorry for the inconvenience" the voice of a lady boomed through the speakers.

"Yes Mom, I am at the airport", her mom had just called to check on her. Surprisingly.

"Yes I know there is a snow storm coming up but I believe I will be home way before that", she spoke into the phone.

"Okay take care of yourself. I love you", she heard my mom say from the other end.

"Okay", she whispered and hung up. She knew she was her mom and she was supposed to say I love you back, but this woman had done nothing but hate her.

She remember how three years ago her parents had told her that they were going to visit her grandma but went back home when she was asleep. Leaving their 14 year old daughter without any explanation.

She could not forget the nights she cried myself to sleep, not sure of why her parents hated her so much.

Even when she was living with them, her mom would tell her how she was a mistake and that she wasn't wanted.

She loved her grandma and her grandma loved her back. Not even once had she made her feel unwanted. She loved her as if she was her own daughter, and now she had lost the only person she loved.

"BUT WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT MICHAEL", she is brought out of her thoughts as a boy walked into the waiting area, shouting into his phone.

She already hated this place.
