Chapter 9: Forever

Muffled voices surrounded me as I stirred awake. Things seemed blurry to my eyes but all I could see was the blurry woman in front of me. As soon as my eyes opened fully the woman in front of me seemed more clear.

"M-mom?" I managed to croak out, my throat dry and raspy.

"H-Honey?" She gasped.

"Oh my god!" She cried, grabbing my hand and holding it tightly. "Your awake!"

My dry lips curled into a smile as I saw my mother smiling widely and crying joyous tears.

"M-mom," I began. "W-w-water."

After a few minutes a hand handed me a cup of cold, fresh water.

Immediately my hand grabbed the cup and placed it against my dry lips and drinked hungrily. The cool, fresh water washed down my tongue and down my throat, curing the dryness. After finishing the cup of water, I licked my lips in satisfication.

"Thank you," I whispered and then handed the empty cup to the open hand next to me.

My eyes trailed to the face of the hand.

"Lottie?" I choked as I saw Lottie.

Her cheeks were stained with tears and a small smile of relief was etched on her face.

"Hey." She said, then sat on the bed just beside me. "How you doing?"

Tears began to pool out her eyes as she spoke. I chuckled at her and pulled her in for a small hug.

"I'm fine," I whispered.

"I thought you died," She sniffled as she squeezed me.

"I thought I was going to die." I whispered as I buried my face into the crook of her neck. "I was so scared."

Instantly tears began to run down my face as my mind wandered to the faces of Zayn and Niall.

"I never thought I would be back here, alive." I sobbed and cried loudly into Lottie's neck.

"We're so happy your safe," My mother smiled as she wrapped an arm around us.

I closed my eyes, wanting this moment to last forever. Never wanting to experience such fear. I wanted to be free. Forever.
