Chapter 6: The Darkness Of Fear

It was happening again. The fear was attacking, mauling Jack's consciousness. 

He sat there in the snow, his back up against an old stump, holding his head in his hands and shivering. The fear always came when it got dark, and only when Jack found he couldn't sleep.

It wasn't a normal fear. It wasn't a fear of  something, it simply just came.

Jack couldn't explain it. All he knew was that terror was taking over his senses, making his heart beat quickly and his chest heave. Shutting his eyes, he turned and layed down on his side, hiding his face in the snow. 

It was dark. It was cold. And he was scared.

But this time there was no moon to chase the darkness away.
