It's been a week now and Aiden's party is going pretty well. I have about another week to finish his party. He decided to have his party at Eden, a club. It's one of the top clubs in New York.
After that goodnight text from him, I never texted or spoke to him again. Wanting to tell him the party planning is going good, I decided to text him. I quickly text and send it to him.
A couple of minutes later I get a message.
Stalker: that's great.
Okay I thought that would be better.
Me: yup.....
Is it just me or is this conversation getting awkward. Last time his messages were radiating with happiness.
Bipolar: is that all?
Me: um ya, are you okay?
Bipolar: ya why?
Me: well last time you texted me, your messages didn't seem so... Dull?
Bipolar: The last time I texted you goodnight you never answered back.
Wait is he made because I didn't say goodnight to him?? That's hilarious, who's mature now?
Me: are you seriously mad at me because of that? Come on be mature
Me: Hello?
Great he ditched now. I put my cell phone away and got up from my desk. I tell Kendra that I'm going for a quick lunch break and ask if she wants anything.
"Oh yeah can you please bring me a happy meal?" Kendra pleads with her hands in a praying position. She is so childish at times.
Nodding my head with a laugh, I head out. I decided to walk instead of using the car.
It's still a little chilly but the sun is out and up in the sky making it a little warm. The tall buildings glistened as the sun shone on them.
Even though it was still chilly outside, there were still a lot of people on the streets. Probably because it was lunch time.
I walk two more blocks before reaching a small cafe called 'Madam'. This cafe was like my safe spot, besides my room. It had this homey feeling with all its warm colors.
A small bell sounds as I open the door. I'm welcomed with cinnamon smell floating around the cafe.
I order my usual, coffee and a small blueberry muffin, and sit down in a window seat. I people watch as I wait for my order to come.
I hear the bell sound as someone entered the cafe.
My mind goes back to earlier when I texted Aiden. He was acting weird it texting weird.
Maybe he was having a rough day.
I was brought out of my thoughts when someone takes a seat across from me.
"Hey Rosie" It was Lance. I smiled and said a quick hi. "What are you doing here?" I ask out of curiosity. Out of all the people that come here, I never imagined Lance could be one of them.
"I'm actually here to talk to you" Lance said as he cleared this throat. Just as I'm about to ask what he wanted to talk about, my coffee and muffin was placed before me.
I say thank you to the waitress and dig in. I hold back a moan as I take a bite of the muffin. No matter how many times I eat their muffins, they always surprise me on how good they are.
Someone ears their throat reminding me that Lance is here.
"Sorry" I say sheepishly, taking a sip of my coffee. Lance just waves me off and says,
"So about Aiden today. I know you guys texted earlier, right?" I nod my head and continued to listen.
"Well he's been having a rough day today" Lance says, scratching behind his neck.
I just snort, "Yeah no wonder it felt like he had a stick shoved up his ass" I pop the last piece of muffin in my mouth and down it with coffee.
Lance just laughs at the statement. "Yeah well he's acting like that because our dad decided to cut of Aiden's bank account. So now Aiden has no money to buy, well anything" Lance claims.
I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. I would think Aiden acted like the perfect child when his parents are around. Guess not. "If you don't mind me asking, why did he cut of his account?" I ask hesitantly.
"Dad caught Aiden with one of his booty calls and well he had it with his player ways. Said he wanted him to start settling down and find a girl he would truly love" Lance said as he looked down at his hands.
The world would have to end for Aiden to find the girl he 'loves'. People like Aiden just don't 'settle down'. I know, I know, I'm being judgy and all but it's kinda true.
I mean like in the movies where a guy just marries a girl because she is pretty and has a model worth body. Same with the girl, she marries him because he is rich and has a great build.
At the end the dude cheats on her and then she finds out and all the drama starts.
Okay I don't know if there is a movie like that but you get the point.
I look at my wrist watch to see that my break is almost over and I still need to get Kendra's happy meal.
I stand up and grab my purse. "Well it was nice talking to you but I have to get back to work" I say to Lance. He too stands up and follows me out the cafe, holding the door for me on the way out.
Lance seemed to be in a thoughtful haze. I wave my hand in front of his face to get his attention.
"Hey you okay?" I ask as I tug on my small coat. Lance just nods and says goodbye. I wave and turn to head to McDonald's.
"Hey Rosie!" Lance yells behind me. I turn to see him walking the short distance between us.
Once reaching me, he says the most baffling thing.
"Now that Aiden has come to his senses about his player ways, I think you'd me good for him. Make him fall in love with you okay? And say hi to Kendra for me, bye!" With that being said, Lance turned around and headed towards where ever he was going, leaving me completely shocked.
Make Aiden fall for me? Maybe the world does need to end. Now.
