MAYA'S POV
I hop out of my beautiful shitty truck and slam the door shut. It wakes a sleeping prince in the passenger seat. He jumps awake hitting his head on the roof of the car. He strokes his head as I fall on the road clutching my heart, laughing.
I laugh so hard my eyes are filling with tears and it blinds me. I can't breath, I'm getting hot flashes. My heart starts to burn.
Dammit. Not now. Not here. Not with him.
I try to move anything but I can't. I'm frozen in place, blind, deaf. Alone.
Until arms wrap around me, warm, strong arms. Cradling my paralyzed body.
All I see is white.
Then black.
Then Lucas.
Kissing me.
I suddenly feel my whole body at once. He pulls away slowly, taking a piece of my hair away from my eyes.
"God Hart, you scared me so much."
He squeezes my arms lightly, then draws small circles on them. I then realize what happened.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry. This is so embarrassing, you weren't supposed to ever see me do that. I haven't done that in such a long ti-"
He kisses me again, smiling this time.
"You're the most amazing girl I've ever met Maya Hart. Nothing could scare me away from you."
And with that I sink into his arms smiling again.
Damn I smile too much.
"Good thing you smile beautifully"
Well I guess I said that all out loud. Oh well.
I didn't care.
