LUCAS'S POV

I start to head down to the docks. I do my best to avoid everyone's eyes. I had put my sunglasses on, along with my Beatles hoodie. I noticed a man with a camera, probably a paparazzi, so I avoided him. I pick up my pace and end up to the docks.

Once I think the coast is clear, I remove my hoodie and sunglasses. I look down at my feet as I approach the very large dock. I always loved this place, so calm, all the time. I walk close to the sides of the bridge, not noticing that there was no railing.

I only noticed it as I almost fell. I regained my balance, chuckling to myself.

"So you think you can steal my man from me?!"
I hear from the end of the dock.

Ugh. Freaking drama.

I turn around, I do not have enough energy to deal with this. I just need to find Maya and give her the biggest apology eve-

"Well, at least Lucas isn't embarrassed to be seen with me. At least he acknowledges that I exist, and that we've met."

I quickly spin around to see the voices were Riley and, Maya? I walk faster to see what was going on. Riley's head spins around to face me for a mere second. In that second, Riley's face has an evil grin spread wide across. She turns her head back to Maya, who had just pushed Riley.

No words are said. Just movements.

1). Riley pushing
2). Maya falling
3). Me sprinting

"MAYA!" I scream as I run towards the end of the dock.

I had thrown my sandals off, I was ready to just dive in and save Maya. Questions raced through my mind as I reached the space where Maya fell.Correction: Where Maya was pushed.

What if she couldn't actually swim? What if she has another panic attack? What if she died on impact?

Before I could think up another question an arm pulled me away from the edge.
Riley.

"LUCAS! Don't be stupid! It's me you want, just let her deal with it."

"Let her deal with it? Are you kidding me?! Riley, she could be drowning! I'm going in"

"Lucas, if you jump in that water, we are done."

I stop dead in my tracks. I turn to face her, she has that same stupid grin again. So many thoughts raced through my mind, it was as if my thoughts had started a marathon.
What would your mother think?
What would the press think?
If I Riley and I "breakup" will I not be prince anymore?
Do I even care?

I took a glance back at the water, and I knew what was right.
"Then I guess we're done." I say while jumping into the water.

I angle myself into a diving position and hit the water. I open my eyes so I can see where Maya would be. It stung my eyes for a bit, but I quickly adjusted.

I swim around the dark waters, searching for any sign of Maya. When my breathe was running out I quickly resurfaced. I took many deep breathes before going back down. I swam farther down than before, and that's when I saw her.
Blonde hair floating around, she looked very pale, her eyes shut, and her arms were spread out.

I quickly swim over to her lifeless body, and scoop her up in my arms. I kick my feet hard, and reach the surface as fast as I could. Still carrying Maya I rush to shore and lightly set her down. She still had her eyes shut, and wasn't breathing. Luckily, I learned CPR from a friend of mine Ireland. I begin chest compressions, I do about 30, and she's still not breathing. There's only one thing left to do.

I lightly put my hand on the back of Maya's head, then tilt it back. I pinch her nose with my right hand, and use the other to keep her mouth open. I bend down slowly, and put my lips to hers and try to get her breathing.

After doing this three times, I sit on my knees and realize, she's gone.
"I should've been there. I shouldn't have lied. I wasn't thinking about what I thought was right, only what everyone else thought was right. I'm sorry Maya, because of my mistakes, and my arrogance you aren't alive right now. You're not smiling with that gorgeous mouth of yours, you're face isn't creased with those beautiful dimples. And you're eyes will no longer sparkle like...like,"

"The night sky?"

"Yes! Exactly the night sky-WAIT."

I look down at where Maya had been lying lifelessly, only to see her smiling back up at me. I engulf her in the largest hug I've ever given to anyone.
"I'm so sorry, I'm so so sorry" She shakes her head and just hugs me tighter. Indicating me to stop talking.

"I'm glad you're not dead" I whisper. I feel her smile into my chest.
"Me too," she whispers back.

OH MY F*CKING GOD. ITS BEEN TWO WEEKS SINCE IVE UPDATED AND IM REALLY VERY SORRY. THIS IS THR LONGEST IVE EVER WAITED TO UPDATE AND I HAVE NO EXCUSE. So, anyways, I hope you like the chapter. I realize you all probably knew she was going to live. But I don't give a shit😊
