MAYA'S POV

I look at the clock.
"Crap! It's 6:30!"
I rush over to my mom, she's with a customer, so I patiently wait for her to finish up. Once she's done I tap her shoulder politely and start twisting my hair.
"Hey mo-"
"Go"
"What?"
"Go Maya, I know you have a date"
I smile and hug her tightly. I start to head out the door when she slightly yells,
"Have fun with the prince!"
What did she just say?
"Um Ma, I'm not going out with the prince. I'm going out with this guy name Josh" I state dreamily.
"Um, oh! Then go have fun sweets!"

I roll my eyes at her cluelessness. Me, diner girl, date the prince, please. I leave, running towards my one room apartment. When I get there I run straight to my closet to find a cute outfit. I ended up throwing on my Yankee crop top sweatshirt, high waisted black shorts, and again my nasty white converse. I look at the clock and I have 15 mins, before I have to meet Josh. I quickly straighten my hair, put on a little makeup, then head out the door.

I walk to the theatre to see Josh standing outside. He has his phone out, probably checking the time. He glances up from his phone then sees me, Josh smiles sweetly then said,
"Hey Mia, glad you could make it."
Wow. Charming, he already forgot my name.
"It's um, it's Maya, but I'm glad I could make it too."
His cheeks heat up, obviously embarrassed, then he leads me into the movie theatre.
"So um, Maya, Ghostbusters ok with you?"
"Yeah, that sounds fun"

Josh buys our tickets and buys me some popcorn. We sit in the back row waiting for the movie to start. 20 minutes later the movie was in the beginning and I was enjoying myself. Josh was on his phone. The whole freaking time. Like what the hell. I think he was texting someone, but i didn't want to be rude and look over at his phone.

When the movie was over he FINALLY looked up from his phone and said,
"That was a good movie, I hope we can hang again sometime. See yah."

Then the jerk left! He left. Didn't walk me home, didn't even give me a handshake. I followed him out to the parking lot, when I saw him making out with this chick in a short skirt and high heels. My mouth hung open, but I quickly closed it. Figures, I only fall for jerks.

I started walking home, tears formed in my eyes. Don't cry Maya, don't cry. You can get through thi-
I run into someone when I let a tear slip down my face.
"Uh, s-sorry. I'll-" I was about to walk away when the person takes their finger and places it under my chin then lifts it up to look at him. I saw his beautiful bright green eyes again.
"Hey, you alright?"
It was Lucas, what was he doing here? I slip my head away from his hand then stare at the ground. I just wanted to be alone.
"Yeah, I'm fine I should go. My um mo-"
I start to leave when Lucas gently grabbed my arm then slowly spun me around to face him.
"Hey, you don't have to lie to me. It's ok."
I took a deep breath when it all came out. I was falling apart sobbing. I just wanted to fall to the ground and crash into a million pieces.
But I felt strong arms around me, supporting me. At first I was surprised but I just got over it and hugged him back. Sobbing into his strong chest. I was so broken. No wonder Josh needed another girl, I was obviously too boring, too ugly, stupid, broke-
"You're not stupid Maya"
Oops, guess I said that out loud.
"And if you're ugly, every other girl I've ever met must be a butt-ugly witch."

I looked up at him with my red puffy eyes, he pulled a piece of my hair out of my eyes. It caused me to smile.
"Even your girlfriend?"
"Oh! You think she's my girlfriend?!"

He throws his head back laughing as I stand there furrowing my eyebrows, very confused. He took notice of my confusion and quickly replied with,
"No she's just this Princess my mother wants me to hang around with for good publicity."
"Oh" oh? That's all you can say Maya? Oh?! God I'm so boring.

"Hey how about I walk you home?"
I nodded my head as we started off towards my apartment. Just my luck, it started raining. HARD. We started running and I sorta, mighta, slipped. God I'm a cults. Luckily Lucas caught me as I fell and started carrying me. Bridal style. I felt like a freaking Princess! He continued to carry me until we got to my apartment, then I jumped out of his arms.
"Alright, this is me."

I start to walk in but I stop myself. I turn around and hug Lucas, oh I'm sorry Prince Lucas. When I pull away I start hearing all these weird click noises then a big flash blinds my eyes.
"Lucas what's-" I start to ask when I'm interrupted by,
"PRINCE LUCAS!"
"IS THIS YOUR NEW GIRLFRIEND?"
"ARE YOU CHEATING ON PRINCESS RILEY?

I look beyond Lucas to see so many reporters  standing outside my apartment building. I started to walk down the stairs to shoo away everyone.
"Hey can you please back out of here. My neighbors are trying to slee-"
Once again I was interrupted by a camera being shoved in my face and blinding lights.
"SO, ARE YOU PRINCE LUCAS'S NEW LOVER?!"
"Wait what? What're you?"

Lucas then stepped in front of me and pushed the reporter away from me.
"Hey back off dude"
All of a sudden the guy starts throwing punches at Lucas. The guy hits Lucas, but that just makes him angry. Now there is a full on fight going on in front of my building. It's all the paparazzi versus Lucas. I try to break it up but I got caught in the crossfire and I get hit with a camera.
I hear ringing, then everything's black.

God. I'm depressing, sorry guys. Now I know the lucaya kinda happened quickly, but you can tell me if you want me to slow it down a little😂
