Chapter 3: Project Partners

 Liv's POV

Beep Beep Beep!

The next morning I woke up to my bothersome alarm clock blaring throughout my bedroom disrupting me from my dreamland. Shutting it off I leisurely made my way to the bathroom to do my morning routine.

After finally waking up from my deep slumber I made my way to my closet to pick my outfit for the day. I was in a mood for a nerdy look so I picked up an off shoulder oversized sweater with denim shorts and a pair of black converse. I decided to let my hair fall loosely behind my back and applied a bit of lip gloss and mascara as I wasn't much of a fan of make up. To finally finish the look, I grabbed my glasses and put it on, looking at my reflection on the mirror. I wasn't pretty like Jamie and I definitely didn't have her body but I am happy the way I am and that is one thing that would never change about me. 

I then made my way downstairs and got my normal breakfast out which was my oh so yummy cereal. Nothing will ever come between me and my cereal expect for sour gummy worms but that's different. After finishing my breakfast, I heard a beep coming from outside and made my way to Alex's car.

"Hey" I cheerfully said as I hopped inside the passengers seat. I was really happy that Alice had come to visit me after such a long time, I guess my brothers decided to give her a break. Looking down at my watch, I wondered were she would be by now cause it was a 2 day trip from there to my house.

"Hey, someone seems to be awfully happy today" he questioned looking at me suspiciously. My friends knew that I wasn't a morning person and if I am oddly cheerful in the morning then that means that something has happened.

" ok so now tell me what happened" he inquired. 

"nothing really, come on lets go we also got to pick up Jamie" I replied trying to change the subject. Alex and Jamie didn't know anything about my past, they didn't know about my brothers and Alice and I tend to keep it that way. 

Seeming unconvinced, he drove of towards Jamie's house and after picking her up we went straight to school.

As soon as we reached school we got out of the car and went to our lockers. As I was making my way to my locker I walked into a wall and lost my balance causing me to fall on my butt. When I fixed my glasses I looked up and came face to face with a familiar hazel green eyed bad boy. 'Yay' just my luck, the last person I ever wanted to see just had to him. 

"Watch where you are going nerd" he said obnoxiously

"Excuse me your the one who bumped into me and its not my fault that you made out of stone" I confidently replied while getting up. I don't really know why but whenever we are together I feel like ripping his head off. He glared at me with rage in his eye and in that moment I began to feel less confident.

Instead of replying me with a sarcastic remark he just shoved past me and left with his group following behind him. 'Well this is new, looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed' I thought as I opened my locker to get my books out and made my way to history. 

Reaching my history class I went to my usual seat got my things ready for the lesson and waited for Jamie and Alex to come. That's right this was the only class that we shared together and unfortunately Caleb and Will were also in this class. Me being a nerd obviously came early to class. As the bell rang Alex and Jamie made their way to class and sat in their seats beside me, Jamie started to fire questions rapidly at me about this morning. 

" Whoa Jamie, calm down and take a deep breath" I instructed her and she followed. "good, now speak, but slowing so I can understand" I told her before she can question me again.

"Ok, so is it really true about what happened this morning" she questioned eagerly

"What" I replied confused  

" She is talking about your encounter with Caleb this morning" Alex spoke before Jamie had any time to respond 

" oh that yeah what about it" I replied casually as if it wasn't a big deal

"What about it!" Jamie gasped. " you called him a stone and and yet you are still sitting beside me."

"Whats the big deal, but honestly when I bumped into him I thought that I had walked into a wall" I said.

Jamie was about to respond when suddenly the class when quiet, we thought that the teacher had come but when we looked towards the door, there stood none other then the school's badboy and his bestfriend. Everyone in the class was really shocked because first, he is actually attending class and second, he actually came to class before the teacher did. They made their way to their seats which was on the opposite side of the class. I glanced back but to my surprise he was staring directly at me with a smirk on his face. A shiver ran down my spine as i decided to ignore him and as I turned back, I noticed the teacher has enter the class and was looking towards Caleb's direction with a shocked face. Regaining himself from the surprise me made his way to his desk and started with his lesson. 

The lesson continued and me not being much of a fan for History I tuned out for most of the lesson until something Mr Morgan said that caught my attention. " So class for your assignment you are going to be working on a project with partners and just to let you guys know, i'm going to picking the partners. 'aww' and 'but why sir' was heard around the class. "ok,ok now quiet down, so the first pair is going to be Hailey and Brent " Mr Morgan began reading the names but I wasn't paying much attention until Alex and Jamie's names were called out.

"The next pair is Alex and Kasey, next is Jamie ad your partner will be...... Will" After those words left his mouth I was shocked, one this I knew was that Jamie hated Will ever since they were little kids. They were in the same school from elementary to high school and much to Jamie's displeasure, Will would always find a way to irritate her. After a few more names, my name finally got called out.

"Olivia, in this project you will be working with Caleb" Mr Morgan spoke which caused my mind to go blank. 'You have to be kidding me, why do I have to work with him'. I looked back to where the devil himself is sitting and found him smirking wickedly towards my direction. oh god!

As sir finished calling out the pairs, he told us what were are meant to be doing in this project and finally the bell rang signaling the end of call. As I was making my way towards the door, Caleb suddenly came up behind me causing me to stop. He leaned his head on my shoulder from behind and whispered " Goodbye partner " causing me to shiver. Ignoring what he said and shoving him backwards a bit, I walked out of the class and went to my next lesson. 

The day continued as normal and finally school finished. I went to my locker to wait for Alex as he didn't have practice today. 

"Hello princess, so your place or my place" I turned around and came face to face with Caleb.

"what" I said 

"For the project nerd, are we going to your place or my place" he replied 

Thinking about the situation, I didn't really want to go to his house but I didn't want him to come to my house either. 

" My house, be their by 6 " I told him finally making up my mind. I would feel much safer in my house instead of his. I took out a piece of paper from my bag and wrote down my address and gave it to him.

"fine" he replied before taking the paper and walking off, leaving me with a confused Alex coming my way.

" what was that about" Alex questioned as he got to me

"The project" I replied not really wanting him to question me more

"ok lets go" He said as we made our way to his car and drove towards my house. 

When we got to my house I got out and said goodbye and went inside. I went and got changed after that I approached the kitchen hoping to find food to eat. With what I had at home I decided to make a sandwich and went to the living room to watch tv. After a few minutes the doorbell rang and I went to retrieve the door. As I opened the door, standing infront to me was none other then Caleb Martino.
