Chapter 4

Liv's POV

When we got to my house I got out and said goodbye and went inside. I went and got changed and after that I approached the kitchen hoping to find food to eat. With what I had at home I decided to make a sandwich and went to the living room to watch tv. After a few minutes the doorbell rang and I went to retrieve the door. As soon as I opened the door, standing in front of me was none other then Caleb Martino.

"What are you doing here" I asked him still confused as to why he was here 

"I have no interest in coming but I have to pass this class so the quicker we get this done the less time I have to spend with you" he replied while stepping into my house and taking in the house.

"Well I guess the feeling is mutual" I mumbled. 

"Do you want something to eat" I asked him as we made our way to the kitchen. "sure" he said as I began making him a sandwich. 

"Soooo where is your parents" he asked as the awkward silence was killing both of us.

"They died when I was young, I live alone" I replied 

"oh" he said again bringing the awkward silence back

I never really had any boy's come inside my house expect for Alex so I wasn't used to having a conversation with people especially if it the person was the schools bay boy.

" Any siblings" he asked after a while.

"Here is your sandwich, so we start the project" I said trying to avoid his question no really wanting to go into that topic.

"Thanks and sure " He said while stuffing his face. We made our way to the living room, I got my books and everything out and we began with the project. The project was quite easy and I was quite surprised that Caleb was actually smart, he may look like a typical bad boy but on the inside he is actually really smart. I wonder why he doesn't try in his learning. 

" You know you are actually pretty smart, why don't you try on your exams" I asked him

"that's none of your business, now stop talking and get back to work" he replied aggressively 

"okay boss" i said causing him to roll his eyes. God this guy, seriously he thinks that he owns me, I just complemented him and in return I get scolded. I didn't know him much before but now even spending a minute with him I feel like i'm in hell. We had spent hours on the project and it was now 7:30. It was time for dinner and since Alice wasn't coming today, I had to make dinner.

"Do you want to stay for dinner"I asked Caleb. I kinda had become comfortable with him but not that much, he still kinda irritates and annoys me. He stared at me for a while before nodding and following me to the kitchen. As we were making our way to the kitchen, the door bell suddenly rang causing both of us to look at the door.

" You expecting anyone" shaking my head I cautiously made my way to the door as Caleb just stood there. Turning the knob I opened the door to seeing the one person I didn't expect to come. 

"Alice what are you doing here" I asked looking at the lady who looked like the world was going to end.

"They.....know......sorry.....run" she heaved

"Alice, first take a deep breath and lets go inside and talk" walking inside I went to the kitchen with Caleb and Alice following behind me. After Alice finally caught her breath she sat down and began to explain things.

"I'm so sorry liv, I tried to keep them away but i just.....i'm really sorry liv" she weeped

" Alice calm down and then tell me why are you sorry, what's going on,shouldn't you have gone back home yesterday" I questioned her 

"They know liv, they know where you are"she replied

"WHAT" I stood up shocked and began panicking

"how is it even possible, they haven't found me in years so how did they now" I asked Alice

"i'm sorry liv, I really don't know, I got a call from Chase while going back home saying they know where you are, I asked them and they said that they know that you are living in this state but don't know exactly where" Alice said. 

"Thank god they don't where I am but I still need to be careful. Alice I think for a while you should stop visiting me, I don't want you getting in trouble if they found out you knew". We sat there in silence for a few seconds before Alice spoke again.

"Who's he " she asked 

I was confused for a while until I looked over to were she was pointing finally remembering that Caleb was still here. I looked over to him and he really confused looking between me and Alice trying to put the puzzle pieces together.

"Ohhh Caleb, he's my project partner" I replied to Alice before turning to Caleb and saying " I think you should go now". Agreeing with me he got up and I escorted him to the door.

Not even saying bye he went out the door and straight to his car, I guess you can never change a bad boy. Walking back inside, I went to the kitchen to find Alice cooking again. I told her it was ok and that I was going to cook but she insisted saying that it was going to be the last time she cooks something for me. After dinner was prepared we sat and ate in silence and before we knew it, it was time for Alice to go. We hugged each other and said our goodbyes before sending her off and me going up to my room to change and dozing off to dreamland.
