*******Neina's POV*******

" Vuoi più tartufi? " My dad, Nico asked in Italian. He taught my brother Rico and I Italian at a young age, so I understood what he was saying.

" No papà ," I said a little annoyed. He was always spoiling me at anything possible. I guess he doesn't want to lose me like he did Aunt Bianca. My mom, Reyna just looked sorrowful at him. I had her milk chocolate eyes and dad's jet black hair. Rico was vise versa. He had mom's auburn hair and dad's obsidian eyes. I love all of them, and I knew we weren't perfect, but we were family.

My thoughts were abruptly disturbed by the phone ringing. Rico started humming to the Wonderpets song, while I picked it up.

"Hey Neina! Do you want to go to Battery park for a picnic with our other famous friends?" My friend Gabriela, daughter of Calypso and Leo asked.

"Sure, why not?" I replied. Battery park was only a block away and it's with a close friend, so my parents allowed me to go.

******************

On the way to Battery park, there is a graveyard. I decided to use the shortcut through there to be there early. The epitaphs were dated back to the Civil War(American, not Demigod) and were all dusty with cobwebs. I ran as fast as I could to get out of this creepy place. I ran facefirst into a tall man. He wore all black and had the same eyes as me and my dad. I knew that he wasn't human, so I tried to look through the Mist. He wore a long robe made with the souls of the condemned.

"Hades," I said not calling him grandfather, or gramps. He looked at me and smiled.

"My granddaughter, Neina. It's been so long since I've seen you." I wanted to yell at him that he abandoned my dad to make sure his life wasn't "miserable". He never answered dad's prayers, and didn't visit us for 15 years! He was only there for my birth and then left without notifying anyone. I hated my grandfather for that.

"Why are you here now, when you could have visited for the last 15 years?" I yelled. He just pretended to be interested with a certain fold in his robe. I wanted to go, but I wanted to make him guilty for making my dad cry, for never seeing my brother, and for never approving of my mom. "You abandoned us, and left us thinking that you'll never come back. Then you show up expecting us to be happy that you're back to only leave us again."

"I'm sorry?"

"Sorry, doesn't reverse time to fix your mistake, does it? It doesn't erase the countless years that mom and dad tried to impress you, but got nowhere with. SORRY DOESN'T MEAN A DARN IN THIS SITUATION! So, how do you think that we'll forgive you?"

"Neina Avila diAngelo, you have everything wrong. I didn't abandon you, I was trying to keep you all safe. I'm considered a bad omen as you might say. Bianca died after I didn't give her and Nico to Zeus and put them in the Lotus Hotel. Hazel and her mom died because they wanted to get away from me. Your grandmother died trying to protect Nico, Bianca, and I." He said rather calmly.

"The only reason that Aunt Hazel accepts that is because if you contact her, she'll have to go back to the Fields of Asphodel. You never did anything for us-"

"Shut up!" Hades voice made the hairs on my neck stand up. I thought I saw more than one shadow whiz past. Hades looked like he ate a flaming pit."You dare say that keeping my distance hurts you more than

help you?!" He was basically yelling."Mark my words, I'll make you regret those insults, Excitandis mortuos!(Latin for dead awaken!)"

My jerk grandfather vanished into thin air as ghostly hands rose up from the ground. Souls of Civil War soldiers started coming towards me. I tried to scream for the police, but what would the crime be? My godly relative raises an army of dead people against me? I don't think the police can even see through the Mist anyways. I tried to run, but my feet felt like jelly. So this is going to be the finale of the Epic Life of Neina. I hope you die in Tarturus, grandfather. As I was thinking of how my parents would feel about my death, my pocket started getting as cold as Antarctic ice. I picked through it when I found my dad's Stygian Ice knife. I never used it before, but what better time to try than when you're near death? A bunch of adrenaline filled my veins. I charged with my sword against the nearest soul.

****Sorry about the cliff-hanger! No I'm not! MWAHAHAHA!!****
