***Unedited*** Also I'm sorry for not updating in forever, I'm a horrible person. But I am trying to make an updating schedule, so hopefully the next part will be up relatively soon. ALSO, this part is kinda short, sorry :/

The car drove along the gravel road quietly, the occasional rumble from the tires driving over a divot and Claire mumbling "Pick up Pick up." Owen only paid attention to the road, and I guessed the tension in the car wouldn't be helped by any of my antics, so I took it apon myself to lay down on the back seats and rest my head on the armrest between the two front seats, my ears flat on my head. Owen had a hand resting behind my ear, probably out of comfort. For him to comfort me or me to comfort him, I'm not sure.

The scenery outside of the car was a fast blur of greens and browns, before slowly opening up to reveal a lush green field of rolling hills. Owen pulled the car to a stop, both him and Claire looking out the front window.

I popped my head up to view out the front window, my ears snapping forward as my attention was drawn to the large apatosaurus laying quite motionless on the grass in front of the car.

"Stay in the car." Owen muttered before pulling off his seat belt and stepping out.

Nope.

Without warning I hopped between the two front seats and bolted out the driver's door before Owen could close it.

"Bailey!" He tried to catch my attention, but I was already walking carefully towards the dinosaur, trying my best to not look at the huge gashes that covered it's side.

"Bailey! Back in the car!" I ignored him and pulled my walk to a halt next to the dinosaurs head, sitting down on the grass. It let out a long heavy breath as it tried to lift it's small head off the ground.

Poor guy...

Owen came up behind the dinosaur, letting it rest it's head on his knees as he rubbed its neck. I scooted forward and nudged it's lower jaw with my muzzle. It let out a soft groan and I lowered my head.

Poor animal. There was no doubt in my mind that the huge white dinosaur that escaped had done this. It's horrible lizardy...whatever-the-hell-it-smells-like scent filling my nose the closer I got. The more I looked at the gashes on the apatosaurus belly, the more worried I got about what this thing will do if it gets out.

Owen kept trying to calm the apato, while a car door closing caught my attention. Claire stood over by the jeep we came in, looking over the injured dinosaur, a helpless look on her face. I stood up and trotted over to her. Claire looked down at me and I let out a huff and wedged my muzzle under her hand gently. Taking slow steps forward, I led Claire over to the head of the long necked dinosaur, her not taking her hand off my head the whole way.

See? Not so terrifying...

I sat back down in the grass next to the dinosaur, laying my head down on it's neck in comfort.

It took in one final breath before letting it out and going limp. I let out a quiet whimper and closed my eyes. I felt a hand stroke down my back and rub my fur, my guess being Owen.

Poor guy...

The wind blew softly against my fur, but my eyes snapped open when a coppery metallic scent hit my nose. I got up and trotted over a small hill, a few yards away from a saddened Owen and Claire.

My ears shot to their facing forward position on top of my head, and I quickly trotted off in the direction of the scent. Coming up over a small hill, my jaw fell open in surprise and my eye widened. I made a small yip in Owen's direction, catching his attention.
