"I, soon-to-be-alpha Tom Red, rejected you, Katy Walker, as my mate and future luna of the WinterRose pack."

At that moment, I knew what pain was. It felt like fire in my lungs, like I was burning alive. I screamed in agony, I put a barrier up in my mind to prevent Star from feeling any pain, but putting up a barrier is painful and energy draining. "Katy....."

I couldn't feel, move, or breathe. Everything was silent but I saw my parents and the alpha barge into the door. They started yelling at Tom and Sydney. Still, I heard nothing, I only saw their mouths moving.

My little brothers, Sam and Chris, run in and look around. When the saw me, fear was in their eyes. They keep trying to get my parents attention, but they were too busy with Tom and Sydney. They both then nodded and screamed the top of their lungs. Or I think they did...

Everyone turned around and the duo pointed at me. They all had fear in their eyes at that moment. They were staring for a long time till a doctor came in. The must have mindlinking him. They all started to surround me. Even Tom had regret in his eyes.

That was all I saw till I feel into darkness....

That's all I heard for what felt like an eternity.

All of the sudden it went BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP... I heard crying. Then a voice said. "I'm sorry... She is gone."

No! I'm still alive!!! I think...

I try to urge my eyes open, but I can't even twitch. I hold my breath to see if that will wake me up. And of course, it doesn't.

Tom's POV

As soon as I said those words, I felt a little pain in my chest, but Katy was in far more pain than I. She feel down on the floor then screamed and shook. I felt our bond break.

After a while she stopped moving. I mindlink her parents and my father, the alpha. They immediately rush in. They sense Katy's pain but they don't go to her. They all come towards me and Sydney and start yelling at us. I zone them out and look at Katy.

I feel bad for rejecting ber, but I had to do it.

Soon Sam and Chris came. They saw Katy and tried to get their parents but they were yelling at me and Sydney to notice. They both nodded and screamed. Who knew two little boys had high pitchy screams. Everyone looked at them and they pointed at Katy. She was in a puddle of blood.
