barney is a young man in his late 20's like Anastasia, with dark brown hair and muscular. he keeps his beard to a 5 o'clock shadow. his casual outfit is an old plaid shirt over a plain, white, tee shirt. finished with faded old blue jeans. barneys childhood was rough his father abused his mother all the time and him witnessing to the beatings changed his life. hes sensitive and kind very soft and understanding. he always had trouble with girls after his mother died from blood loss. he was afraid that he would hurt them, that he would be like his father. because of this fear barney was known as 'gay' from the guys and girls didn't really notice him. he was shy and didn't speak much. so he didn't have too much problems since no one knew he was there!

finally in his junior year a beautiful girl with buttermilk skin and hair glowing a fiery blonde with waves and curls. she was tall and thin, about 5'8 and 150lbs. for once in his life he knew he could talk to her. there she sat with her baggy sweat pants and a random basketball jersey sitting at the front of the class working on a poem. barney walked up to this beautiful girl, and stood there just staring true his hazel green eyes at her turquoise pupils. she looked up at him curious, but barney didn't notice he was too hypnotized by her devilish beauty.

"I-im sorry. am I in your seat?? I can move if you want! im really sorry." she stuttered as she collected her items and stood up scooching  her chair back.

"n-no." barney stuttered.

"what was that? im sorry." she said nervously  back to him.

"p-please....don't g-go...I-its fine..." he said as his hands clammed up and his throat choked.

"oh? so this isn't your seat?" she asked confused.

"there aren't assigned seats here..." barney stated, begging for courage. "m-may I sit next to you?"

"um...y-yeah. sure , go ahead!"

"I- if you don't mind me asking..." barney coughed trying to get his sentence out. "what's your name?"

"smith. marie smith." she answered as she sat down again. they sat there and talked and talk until barney invited her to the cornstalk café. five years passed of them loving and dating and kissing and hugging, when he took her back to that room and to that very spot and purposed to his dear marie. they were married but the next Christmas. they lived 3 years together when marie was diagnosed with cancer and shortly after died.  a year later he visited the hospital just to feel intact with her spirit, when he was pushed aside for a gurney to go through carrying a man who was ripped to shreds. shortly after a women with beautiful blonde hair like maries followed after crying and sobbing the doctors pushed her back and told her to wait out there, and she collapsed to the floor crying so hard she could hardly breathe. barney rushed to her and hugged her.

"calm down, buttercup. it happened to me too. it will be okay..." he whispered to her, trying to calm her. a doctor came out with red dark blood shining off his gloves. and an even darker shade of despare on his face.

"im sorry." he said as he peeled off his gloves and walked silently away. the woman burst to tears, crying harder than she was before to the point she wasn't breathing until she absolutely had to. barney picked her up and went to the front desk as her face nuzzled into his muscular chest. over the muffled cries of sadness he asked for a cab, and the receptionist nodded silently and called the services. barney stood there holding and squeezing her u til the cab came and she had cried herself to sleep with soft squeaks of sadness every few minutes. he took her to his house and laid her in his bed then walk to the couch where he slept. the next morning he woke up to a blood curdling scream from the bedroom. he rushed in and held her.

"its ok buttercup. I wont hurt you, its ok." he rocked her softly. she remembered his voice and calmed when she knew she was safe. after an hour or so of sobbing and calming she came to a state that she could talk. she lifted her head from his now soggy arm.

"im sorry." she whimpered.

"don't be, buttercup. I went through the same thing."  he said as a tear rolled down his cheek.

" who are you? if you don't mind me asking...." she squeaked.

"im barney" he said softly. "and you?"

"Anastasia..." she whispered. throughout the day she cried and cuddled then calmed down and talked but every once in a while broke down. for three days she stayed there.  she needed someone to care for her. after three days she insisted of going home so barney let her but at the front door of her house she asked if he would like a job at the farm. he thought about his job and how much he hated it and accepted her offer. ever since hes been her shoulder to cry on, and hes been in love like marie told him when she asked him to go to the hospital.
