Don't Scare Me Like That! Laxus Dreyar x Reader, PT. 1

(A/N: For Flower427 in case 'Dedicated to:' isn't working againnnn. Sorry it took so long! Also, if you haven't watched/read the GMG arc yet, little bit of a spoiler!! >.< Alsooo, is anyone else having problems with italics when publishing stories on the Wattpad app or is it just me? Aaaannd, sorry if this One-Shot is basically just a rewrite of what happened, but I couldn't think of any other scenario, but anyway, enjoy!)

The Grand Magic Games.

It all came so fast. The Tenroujima incident, Grimore Heart,. . .Zeref. Then, this? Well, Fairy Tail did need to regain its title of 'Strongest Guild in Fiore'. That was the only reason you decided to tag along and go to the Tournament.

At the moment, you were seated in the guild's box for the the third day of the GMG's. The match had just started and you were on the edge of your seat.

"Laxus Dreyer of Fairy Tail versus the mysterious Alexei of Raven Tail!!" Chapati announced and you silently growled in the back of your throat. Of course Laxus would have to go against someone from his father's guild. 'He'll pound his face in for sure after everything that's happened.' You thought hopefully as the two competitors entered the arena.

"Remember, you've got 30 minutes!" Mato announced cheerily as the two approached each other. You were gritting your teeth with anticipation as a heavy tension set around the arena.

"Who will strike f–" Chapati started anxiously, but never finished thanks to Alexei delivering a swift punch at the Lightning Dragon Slayer. The whole crowd gasped as Alexei continued to beat the crap out of the Fairy Tail S-Class Wizard.

"THE HELL!?" Natsu yelled from beside you in disbelief of what he was seeing.

"Laxus!" You yelled also, seeing him get tossed around like a rag doll. It hurt you. . . Ever since you'd joined Fairy Tail, Laxus had been like a distant older brother to you. He was always there when you needed him, and never gave up easily, or even gave up in general.

Laxus seemed to completely ignore all the yells and shouts from Fairy Tail as he continued to get beat to a pulp.

"This isn't like him at all. . ." Makarov thought aloud.

"Maybe he's conflicted about fighting someone from his father's guild?" Carla guessed, but Makarov shook his head.

"After everything that Ivan has done to him-- done to Fairy Tail --Laxus would never show mercy. There has to be something wrong."

Your eyes widened tenfold as you saw Alexei throw some magic into the mix as well and Laxus was sent into a wall of the arena without a word. Tears brimmed in your (e/c) eyes, but you absolutely refused to let them show. Laxus was one of Fairy Tail's best and here he is, not getting one hit in against someone from his infamous father's guild.

Suddenly, Laxus threw a lightning-ified punch at Alexei, sending him flailing back. Your heart lightened as you sighed in relief.

"'Atta boy, Laxus!" Master yelled, pumping a fist to the air. Laxus continued to use Lightning Dragon Slayer attacks on Alexei as the crowd's spirits were lifted. 'Something's off.' You thought, examining Laxus's attacks closely. 'Laxus would never be so careless while throwing attacks. He always has a plan before using them. . .'

"Warren?" You ask the telepathic mage, who nodded in understanding.

"Bisca, anything?" He asks as you hear Bisca's voice in your head.

"None of them have made any movement since the match started. . ." She trailed off, probably observing Raven Tail once again.

"Team Thunder Legion?" Warren asks.

"No movement at all!" Lisanna exclaims with disbelief in your head.

'That's not right. . .' You swore that Raven Tail was going to try something, them originally being a Dark Guild with Laxus's dad as a master.

The match had turned around once again for the worst and you were almost reduced to tears.

"This back and forth crap is really stressing me out!" Jet exclaimed and you nodded in agreement.

"I'm gonna freakin' jump over the edge if he doesn't get himself together!" You cried.

-Change to 3rd Person P.O.V.-

As Natsu and Gray held (y/n) from jumping into the arena to help the Lightning Dragon Slayer, Laxus was having problems of his own. Apparently, Alexei was actually Ivan, Laxus's father and had made the entire arena see an illusion while he questions his son about Fairy Tail's darkest secret.

"Where is the Lumen Histoire?!" Ivan yelled once again at his son. Laxus just rolled his eyes.

"I already told you, I don't know what the hell you're talkin' about." Laxus replied, unemotionally.

"Makarov must've told you!!" Ivan snarled as the rest of his 'team' emerged from the murky blackness behind him. "If you won't tell me, I'll just have my guild beat it out of you. All of my wizards are equipped in a magic that Fairy Tail wizards are ill-equipped in." He sneered.

(y/n), on the other hand, could barely take it anymore. Just seeing her nakama being beat by someone was enough, but this was taking it too far.

"(y/n)! Calm down!" Gray yelled as she struggled in his grip.

"No! He needs help!" She shouted back.

"Laxus can handle this!" Natsu chimed in, hopefully.

Just when both of their grips failed and (y/n) was about to scale the arena wall, the unimaginable happened. The fight she was just watching in pure disbelief was ripped open before her very eyes to expose Laxus and the rest of Raven Tail, battered and beaten.

"Whoa!" Chapati yelled over the mic. "What do we have here?"

"It looks like Raven Tail caused an illusion for the audience," Yajima stated, quite calmly.

"Wait!" Mato yelled. "I know him! That's their guild master!"

-Back to 2nd Person!-

You couldn't believe your eyes. Laxus had beaten all of Raven Tail on his own? That was all just an illusions? 'Screw this,' you thought to yourself, smirked, then jumped over the wall into the arena.

"(y/n)?" Laxus asked as you met his gaze. You nodded happily before running and giving him a big hug. God, was it awkward before almost all of Fiore, but you didn't care. Laxus was beyond surprised at first due to the fact, well, you were hugging him!

"You're okay..." You choked up and Laxus smiled. "Don't scare me like that! Ale–Ivan looked like he was going to kill you!"

"I'm fine," he replied, reassuringly as you hugged him tighter. Lots of 'aww-ing' could be heard from the crowd as your face turned a red that would put Erza's hair to shame.

"I should've probably waited until you were outside of the arena. . ." You huffed in embarrassment and Laxus chuckled.

~~Time Skip~~

After the whole 'hugging-Laxus-in-front-of-all-of-Fiore' shenanigan, you all went back to your inn to just chill for the night. You had gone outside to get some fresh air and found the Lightning Dragon Slayer himself, leaned against a wall, eyes closed.

"Laxus. . ?" You whispered and he smiled gently. "Sorry for earlier. . ." You trailed off then leaned against the same wall beside him.

"Subtle." He muttered and you pursed your lips.

"I was going to interfere with the fight at first, so I'd be grateful if I were you." You crossed your arms and tried to look angry.

"You're pretty cute when you try to look intimidating," Laxus teased and you playfully punched him, though he didn't even flinch.

"I'm just glad you're okay." You desperately stood on your tippy-toes and placed a lingering kiss on the blonde's cheek. "Just don't scare me like that ever again or there will be hell to pay."

"Noted."
