*For @Mcubedx. Hope you like it!*

I was hanging out in the public library, as I always did in the afternoon. I was reading Eleanor & Park for about the millionth time when a library cart came rolling toward me.

"Omigosh, a possessed book cart!" I screamed.

Someone laughed behind me, and I turned to see a boy my age chortling. He worked here part-time, I saw him here every once in a while.

"Oh...  hi," I said quietly, mentally slapping myself.

"Hi," he replied. "I've seen you here a lot, and figured I should talk to you before you think I'm a creepy stalker or something. I'm Will."

"Maisie," I introduced myself. "Where are you from? I only ever see you here."

"I just moved here a few weeks ago."

"I moved here last year. Welcome to town," I said, shaking Will's hand.

"Thanks. What grade are you going into?"

"Twelfth. I'm so excited to be done with this stupid school!" I said excitedly

"I'm going into twelfth as well," Will said with a small laugh. "Maybe we'll be in the same classes."

"Maybe. I just hope the possessed library cart doesn't follow me to school," I joked.

Will laughed. "You're pretty funny. Do you think I could have your number? Strictly for friendship purposes, I mean."

I got a Post-It Note from my bag and scribbled my number onto it. "Here you go. I'm all about the friendship!" Why did I say that? Wow, me, just wow.

"Thanks. Are you reading Eleanor & Park?" he asked, examining the book in my hands.

"Yeah. It's one of my favorites."

"Mine too! But The Fault in Our Stars takes the cake, I think. It's the best."

I looked at him. "Are you kidding? It's way too unrelatable! Like, hello! Not everyone can find a hot cancerous guy to fall in love with! Eleanor and Park are just ordinary high schoolers with an extraordinary love story! And you compare it to TFIOS? Wow."

Will was laughing by the end of my rant. "Okay, okay. You win."

"Hey, new kid!" the librarian yelled at Will. "Quit flirting and get back to work! I don't pay you to stand around all day!"

"You barely pay me at all," he muttered. Turning to me, he said, "I'll see you around?"

"Totally. I'm always at the library."

"Okay. Bye, Maisie." Will walked away, taking the cart with him. I sighed as I turned back to my book. Man, he was cute.
