Before we can begin our journey with Ash and his friends, we must first introduce you to a young man by the name of Raymond Vermillion. A fourteen year old Pokémon trainer who was looking to explore the world and discover new types of Pokémon. He measures up to about five feet, four inches tall, and weighs close to 157 pounds. He is a Pokémon trainer from Pallet Town. He wears a long sleeve coat with the sleeves rolled up to just passed his elbows. The jacket is red. He wears a black baseball cap on his head, and black fingerless gloves on his hands. He wears blue jeans, and white sneakers on his feet. Ray was orphaned at the young age of five years old when he lost his parents to a car accident. Since then he had lived alone in an empty log cabin just outside of Pallet Town. Though there was one ray of sunshine that kept him on the path. A woman, whom he called Mrs. Ketchum, visited him every Sunday while going for her groceries. She helped raise him so to speak. And in return when he turned seven years old, Raymond assisted her with babysitting her son Ash. Raymond enjoyed watching after Ash for his first three years of life. Then on his tenth birthday, Raymond was handed a Great Ball with a note inside from his mother. The note read,
'Son, should something happen to your father and I, I just wanted you to know that we always loved you. Your father and I know that you want to be a Pokémon trainer when you grow up, so we saved up some money to get this for you. Be sure to use this ball wisely, as it is no ordinary Pokéball.
Love, Mom'
Raymond soon received Pikachu as his starter, and then he was off on his journey. Over the next four years, Raymond left Pallet Town, and even the entire Kanto Region behind. He traveled all across the regions from Hoenn all the way to Alola. He captured many reputable Pokémon, including one of the legendary flying Pokémon, and even picked up a friend from Kalos. A small Ralts that would follow no one but him. Throughout their travels together, Ralts never stayed inside her Pokéball save for when she was captured. Now four years have passed, and Raymond finds himself back in the Kanto Region, going to fight in the Viridian City Invitational. A privately organized event where a new individual contestant would be invited each year for a chance to earn the prestigious Inferno Amulet. A beautiful ruby pendant attached to a golden chain. The value was immense, but the honor of earning the amulet was more than enough to lure all Pokémon trainers to long for an invitation.
As Raymond entered the mansiom, he could feel the temperature beginning to rise in the air around him. The air was heavy, and his lungs burned evermore with each passing breath. He looked up to see a gentleman wearing a white suit with black hair, also showing some spots of grey. His eyes were green, and by the looks of him, he was the host of this event. Behind him stood a young woman. Couldn't be any older than thirteen, holding an Eevee pup in her arms. She had long flowing black hair, and deep sapphire eyes. She wore a read turtleneck sweater, and a long black skirt. Raymond stiffened his back and stood with respect.
"You are the host I assume?" He asked
The man nodded.
"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Fuego Veridian, descendant of the founders of this great city. And this here is my daughter Ruby." He responded
Ray bowed respectfully to Fuego, and then cut straight to business.
"Sir, I would like to challenge you to a Pokémon battle of your choice for a chance to earn your Inferno Amulet." Ray requested
Fuego smirked and clapped his hands. A butler entered the room with a pillow holding three Pokéballs on it. He appeared to be an elderly man, and dressed in a long tailed coat, grey pants, and a black vest over a white shirt and a black bow tie. He was the stereotype definition of a butler. He approached me and held out his hand.
"Sir if you would please follow me. I will escort you to the battlefield. I would also like you to place your three Pokéballs on the opposite side of the pillow." He asked
