In a days time, Ray's flight had landed in Viridian City. He exited the plane with Kirlia following closely behind him. She was carrying the Pokéball that held the Eevee inside. Ray and Kirlia made their way through the winding streets of Viridian City until they finally came across the Veridian Family Manor. A large house with a beautiful white rose garden in the exterior courtyard. Ray approach the door and knocked on it politely. There was a stretching moment of silence that was eventually broken by the door being opened. Charles, the butler, stepped outside and looked upon Ray with a most confused expression.

"Can I help you young man?" He asked

Ray took a moment to look Charles over. His hair had begun to grey, and the wrinkles on his face were becoming more defined and prominent. Ray stood straight up and bowed respectfully.

"Sir, is your master home? I wish to see him." Ray requested

Charles nodded, and stepped away from the door. Before Ray could enter, a young woman with long red hair and glasses popped in front of him. She wore a school uniform that looked like a sailors outfit. It was white with a green neck flap, and matching green skirt. She couldn't have been any older than twelve. Her blue eyes peered into Ray's, and her smile was overpowering.

"Hi there! You must be here for..." She said

Charles cut her off.

"Miss Lisa, what have I told you about running to the door? You're thirteen years old, and are expected to act like a proper lady. Now please allow this gentleman inside." He pleaded

She blushed and moved out of my way. I entered with Kirlia close behind. She happily danced around with the Pokéball as we moved down the hall. Charles lead me into a large sitting room. In the center wall was a fireplace with a large family portrait of everyone with an Eevee. There where three young girls in the painting, and Ray could easily pick out Ruby in the mix. He couldn't help but think of how happy they all looked. The room was painted white with a gold plated crown mold that adorned the top of the room. The curtains were made from crimson silk, and the furniture seemed to be made of corinthian leather. Charles left the room and went to fetch Mr. and Mrs. Veridian.

"They look so happy here. I wonder what happened from when this was painted to when I last visited. What do you think?" Ray asked

Kirlia shrugged at him.

"Kirlia." She said

Ray smiled and patted her head. There were footsteps approaching him from behind. He turned around and made eye contact with none other than Fuego Veridian. Mr. Veridian stood there beside his wife, and a look of shame spread across his face.

"What do you want?" He asked

Ray bowed respectfully then took the Pokéball from Kirlia and held it out to Fuego.

"I have come here to give you this as a gift." Ray said

Fuego raised his eyebrow and slowly rubbed his temples. He examined the Pokéball then shook his head.

"Why on earth would you want to give me a Pokéball? Trying to kick an old man while he's down I suppose?" He asked

Ray shook his head.

"Sir I'd never degrade you or put you down. Inside this Pokéball is a healthy male Eevee. He's the bruiser from the first litter of pups from my Vaporeon and your Flareon. Since you have me the Flareon, I feel it my duty as a breeder to give you the best of the litter." Ray said

Ray opened the ball and the Eevee was released. It happily ran around in circles before jumping up and down, then eventually doing a back flip trying to get out some of its pent up energy. It looked confidently at Fuego.
