This one is a fantasy involving Diligent

Imagine if you had found a magic lamp and a Genie inside granted you one wish....what would that be?

A birthday is always a special time and even more so if you are visited by someone whom you always thought to be 'out of reach'....a fantasy.

Today was my birthday....not one of a significant age but nevertheless it was one which I hoped to enjoy.

"So let me guess......you want 'her' for your birthday"

My sister was always so predictable and I was often astounded at her brilliance to know my own mind.

"Maybe"

"There's no maybe about it......your crush has been obvious for so long.....you need to get a life and admit that its never going to happen"

"Says you......the girl who longed to meet Daniel Ratcliffe"

"Yeah well.....I was young and it was a crush"

"And how is that any different to mine"

"Well for a start.....Im not a lesbian and the last time I checked....neither is Master Potter".

"Well I did have a think for Emma Watson if you remember"

"Yes I remember......until she broke your heart with that Spanish dude".

I had to get away.

"Where's mum and dad anyway?"

"Ive no idea......probably arranging some extravagant birthday party for there favourite girl......who would have thought that the girl who can give them babies ended up being less important than you"

"Yes well.....mum and dad are fed up of the losers you keep bringing home......I reckon they are waiting for the day that you announce your gay and they can live a happy retirement"

"Anyway sis.....happy birthday"

She handed a card to me.....it contained gift vouchers.

"Thanks....your a star"

Ive got a bigger present for you.....I will let you have it when the folks get home.

Ok.....Im going to take a walk......fill my year older lungs with the polluted air that we live in.

"Be back for two"

We lived in a nice neighbourhood although no one spoke to each other.....it was as though you would die of excitement should anything exciting happen.

I crossed the road and walked toward the drain when I heard shouting.

"I cant believe you went to that bargain shop and brought home a lamp.....what do you expect to happen.....rub it and a magic genie will appear and grant me one wish.....to get away from you"

A man appeared at the door and threw the lamp in a straight line....it whizzed past my head into the gutter......he slammed the door.

I was curious and went across to have a look at this lamp.....there was writing on the side.

"Whomever rubs the lamp three times from left to right will release the genie and be granted one wish"

Had to be a joke......that bargain store was full of the most weird oddities including a square hula hoop but seeing as I was bored decided to take it with me on my walk.
