"What is this?" I ask, my eyes wandering across the vass room. The smell of antiseptic and alcohol hung in the cool air as I breathed in.

"The testing lab. It's where we take the girls to be tested on." He says, guiding me past a corridor and that's when I see men in white lab coats, blue latex gloves covering their hands.

My eyes dart to a girl laying on a cushioned table that's inclined at an angle.

"This isn't right." I eye the back of his head.

"It sounds harsh, trust me even I think it sounds wrong, but it's not. Just think of it." He turns around to face me, stopping me from walking. "When they wake up they'll have...powers. Who wouldn't want that?" His eyes light up. This man is doubtlessly delusional.

"And what if your plan works and they turn against you?" I say.

He smiles and turns around walking over to the table where the girl is. I follow behind him and look at the girl. Her chest rising and falling in an even pattern. Her eyes move underneath her eyelids like she's having a nightmare and she's about to wake up.

"They won't, or at least if they do..." The man in the lab coat hands him a cylindrical piece of metal. Like a miniature flashlight. "We have this." He shows me.

"What is that?" I stare at it.

"When I press this button, a high octave pitch will be heard. We won't hear it because the frequency of the sound waves are too high. But to them, it'll feel like they're eardrums are bursting and it causes extreme migraines behind the eyes. Their senses will be very magnified and their hearing will be sensitive. If they do anything to harm or go against us, that's all we have to do is push this button." He tells me. He hands the object back to the man in the coat and he walks away with it.

"You think this is actually going to work?" I ask him, staring at his eyes.

"I hope." He says lowly.

"You're going to do this to all of us?" My voice quivers as I stare at the girl with a needle in her arm and straps pinning her to the table.

"Yes." He says eventually, his eyes roaming my own. "I know you don't like this, and that you think I'm insane for trying this on innocent women." He says, his voice a different octave than before.

"Then why do it, why be a monster?" I ask, turning towards him. He shakes his head and laughs dryly.

"A monster..." He licks his lips. "I'm not a monster, but if you think I am...well, I can't control your thoughts, can I?" He raises his brows.

"What you're doing is monstrous." I tell him. "Look at me and tell me that there isn't a sane man inside of you that tells you what you are doing is so deep in the wrong." I say, my voice desperate for a good response.

He looks at me, his eyes devouring mine with much intensity. I feel small under his stare, I feel weak. And that's probably because I am.

"What I'm doing is going to be victorious." He says, his voice sounding unsure of himself.

"What you're doing is inhumane." I grit. "You can't do this to us." I tell him, the ball in my throat growing. "We're humans, just like you. We have families and friends, we don't want to become some...freak." I say, a tear breaking loose from my hold of keeping it in. "Please..."

He watches the tear as it slides down my cheek. His jaw clenching as his eyes find mine again.

"When I was first thrown into this camp, I was seventeen." He says, his eyes softening a little bit. "I was scared, I even thought I was going to be killed if I didn't do the things I was told. There were three men who started this camp and what they did was find boys and build an army of them." He sighs.
