Chapter 24
Meredith's POV
2 months later...
Alex and I just hit our three month anniversary the other day. It feels like so much longer than that, an eternity you might say. Alex and I currently talking over a delicious supper of tacos and burritos. Alex flashes me his sexy smolder while taking a giant bite of a burrito. The contents of it splatter all over the place and I swat Alex as he laughs at my rush to clean up the mess. "Gosh Mer, you're like sanitation police." "Oh shut up. You know you live living in a clean house. Don't mock my ways." He puts his hands up in surrender. "Gee sorry Mer. When you're done cleaning that, I'd like to talk to you about something." I finish cleaning and give Alex my full attention.
He grabs a hold of both of my hands. "Listen Mer, I know we've only been together for three months now, but we've known each other thirteen years. I know you better than most people and vice versa. I'm not proposing marriage this second because I want it to be unexpected and romantic, but I am proposing the concept. How do you feel about that?" My heart races a mile a minute with high excitement. "I approve of that concept. In fact, I can't wait until it becomes a reality." "You don't think it's too soon to mention it?" I stroke my hands with my thumbs. "Alex, besides Derek, you're the only other man I've been able to wholeheartedly trust and fall in love with. We know everything there is about each other and have great chemistry. When it comes to us, it's never too soon for anything."
He stands up and smiles. "I'm so relieved to hear that. The last thing I wanted to do was give you a panic attack." I smile back and stand up myself. "No panic attack is present so you're good. Though when you do decide to pop the question officially, I expect something that will sweep me off my feet Alex Karev. I want to feel like a damn queen." He pulls me close to him. "You already are a queen in my eyes, but I promise you it will be memorable. Okay?" I nod inches away from his face before he pulls me in for a kiss. One kiss ends up leading to twenty and before we know it, that leads to more sex.
