Chapter 2- Tim pov
______________
"Are we ready?" Rose asked Aj and I before pulling out of the driveway to our house.
We both nodded our heads like little kids filling up the back seat, while Rose then started driving away.
Surprisingly, though, Aj was full of silence while she watched out the window beside her, watching her surroundings carefully.
Her hand was resting close to my body on the seat, and I was weirdly tempted to place my hand on top of hers, but I could tell it would be a tad bit awkward, but I'd like it, I guess.
I'm not sure if I like Aj like that, though. She's a really cool girl and all, but she's amazing just being a friend-- or best friend.
"A-Are you okay?" I whispered her way. Her head shot over to me, making her hair flip over as well.
"Fine... fine" she shrugged and smiled. "Hey Rose, where are we going?" Aj automatically changed the subject before I denied her reply.
"There's a county fair, and I wanted to go so why not tonight? Plus, it's wristband night!" she winked while we watched her through the rear-view mirror.
"Cool." Aj started to look back out her window.
I don't know why she is so silent, but I don't like it. I feel like I should say something to break it apart.
Rose slowly stopped the car at a right light and looked back to check on us.
The silence was torturing me the second by second.
"So... you heard that new Miley Cyrus song?" I nervously tried to come up with something to say.
"Wrecking Ball?" Aj looked at me once more, only to release her beautiful blue-green eyes to mine. "Yeah, that one" I was stunned by the way she looked at me.
I've never noticed before by Aj is... beautiful. From her blonde hair, carelessly caressing her scalp and down a few inches past her shoulders, to her blue eyes skinned of anything but small amounts of mascara. Then to her perfect complexion and the way the sun hit her soft tan, it was perfect.
To top it all off, she's such an amazing friend I can always count on. She's helped me through so much, and knows so much, just like Rose.
"Tim.... Tim?" Aj's had ever back an fourth in front of my face to saltire my attention. "Oh, what?" I shrieked, a little embarrassed. "We're here." Se chuckled back and reached a hand out to help me out of my seat in the car.
I fixed my snap back hat and followed the girls to the booth to get us all one wristband.
Rose offered to pay, and when she offers there is no 'no's she will do anything to pay.
"Thanks" Aj and I shot toward Rose as the woman behind the booth placed our wristbands on.
"Don't mention it," she gave a friendly smile and we walked in, looking around.
"Now, lets all just let our emotions go for once and just be calm and focus on what's going on now" Rose suggested and we nodded. "Lets all just have fun." She finished.
My eyes gazed the whole place, looking for what to ride first. "What to ride first?" I asked, giving up on my instincts that couldn't decide.
"How about that one?" Aj pointed at a ride. "Anything" I agreed.
"Rose, you in?" Aj elbowed her and wanted a yes. "Sure."
Aj did a little happy dance, making me chuckle, and we got in line waiting for our turn. There were only three other people in front of us so it would for sure be our turn next.
I watched closely as the ride for the people that were on before we got here began.
The cars all lifted and started spinning, not fast at first, but they grew.
When the ride had ended they've all been spinning and on their side too much. Everyone evacuated through the exit door and the young man running the ride opened the gate to let us on.
There were three to a seat, therefore Rose, Aj, and I got to sit in the same place.
"Please keep everything inside the car at all times...." and other precautions were announced, that everyone knew. When the man was finished he started the ride and just like last time, we started slowly but gradually got faster.
I could hear Aj and Rose scream while I yelled at the top if my lungs as if I were having the time of my life.
.....
"I am almost rode out" Aj leaned on my arm lopsided to catch her balance, for she was dizzy.
"I had fun!" I announced and after Rose nodded. "I did too."
"C'mon, Aj, a few more rides?" I tried to beg for more rides.
"If you make me ride the whiteout again I'll throw up on you" she warned. "Got it" I smiled.
"Swings? Classic, but you gotta love 'em!" she suggested. "Sure, Rose?" we both turned to her and asked if she'd come along.
"I think I'll pass, you two ride." Rose gave me a wink and I smiled.
I led Aj up to the entrance. Only around ten or fifteen people stood before us, so there's no way we wouldn't be on the next ride. I watched her amused facial expressions as she watched the ride in motion herself, chuckling a bit at her amusement.
"What?" Aj turned to me, absolute cluelessness filling her tone. "Nothing, nothing" I sighed happily and looked back up at the operating machine. She did the same, but didn't have near as much emotion as earlier. I think she knew I was chuckling at her.
When the ride came to a stop everyone unbuckled and went out the gate marked 'exit'. The man operating the ride came to open the gate and let us all in.
I followed Aj to two seats next to each other and sat next to her.
"Are you excited?" I asked after bucking myself inside. "Not sure" Aj's tone sounded like she would for real throw up, but I doubted it.
I grabbed her hand to help her stay strong, as she always did to me, and the ride began.
We spun in circles and kept going a bit more upward toward the night sky every so twirls.
My hand was still on Aj's, extended out far to reach it. She did scream a bit, which widened my thoughts if she was okay or not.
I shook it all off by the time the swings were finished and Aj stopped screaming and didn't throw up the whole ride.
She shrugged and I looked at her. "Are you okay?" I asked looking concerned before we walked out the exit.
"Fine, just a little chilly from being all the way up there." she held onto her shoulders and kept walking.
"Here," I took off my jacket and handed her it. "No, no." she tried to reject it, but I put it on her anyways.
"Tim, you didn't have to-" Aj started to explain. "No, I wanted to." I cut her straight off before he could finish her sentence.
"Ready to go home?" Roselyn asked as she spotted us after exiting. "Yup." Aj and I said in unison.
I wanted my hand to wrap back around hers, but I couldn't force it out of my chicken emotions.
