Chapter 18

The next morning my mother cooked breakfast. Things were different between Normani and I. I looked at her different, I realized she was mine. Made by and for me. She was sad that I had to leave for school. "I promise I'll get you in school with me baby, alright? I gotta go, I'll see you later" I said, pecking her on the lips. It's not cheating because she's mine. At school, Lissa was oddly distant. She said hi to me in between classes, and sat somewhere else for lunch. Honestly I couldn't care less about her, I don't want to date a rude, bitchy person.

"Lauren did you hear? There are rumors going around that your girlfriend slept with Daniel AND Bryce" Dinah said. My eyes popped out of my head before I burst into laughter. "I don't fucking care, she's not my girlfriend anymore" I said, although unofficial. I didn't care for her after last night. She was just a basic pretty girl, i had a masterpiece waiting for me at home. In the hallway, I stopped to get my textbook for math. Worst subject if you ask me. It then dawned on me that Mavis wasn't here, I wondered if she was okay. As I was leaving for class, Lissa approached me. I gaged at the sight of her cheating face.
"Lauren? Can I talk to you for a sec?" She asked. "Well you're already talking so sure" I said. "Lauren, I'm breaking up with you" she said loud enough for everybody to hear. The hallway went silent, listening to our conversation. "Um okay, later" I said, walking away. She grabbed my arm and stopped me. "Y-You're not mad or upset?" She asked, entertaining the hallway more. "No, because I know you were cheating on me. Plus I didn't lose much so no. Have fun fucking and sucking bitch, hope you get pregnant" I said, yanking my arm from her and leaving. She looked as hurt as ever. I couldn't care less.

After school, we decided to go to the mall. I was driving, so I stopped by my house to get Normani. "Mani! Let's go we're going to the mall!" I said. She walked downstairs already dressed. "What's a mall?" She asked. "It's a place with a shit ton of stores in it, you can buy clothes there so let's go" I said. She grabbed my arm stopping me. I looked her in the eyes before we locked lips. We went to my car, and she got in the passengers seat. At the mall, we went to a few stores, buying a few things. In the food court, I saw Lissa and Daniel together. I knew that bitch would follow us.

I put my arm around Normani. She looked at me smiling. Part of me wanted to show that Mani was mine, the other part wanted to make that bitch cry. Normani was shivering so I took off my hoodie and let her wear it. Lissa elbowed Daniel, and I read her lips. She said she was cold and he just shrugged continued talking to his friends. She pouted making me laugh.

We left the mall, Normani and I taking a shower together. She held onto me, resting her head delicately on my chest. Her arms wrapped around my waist. "Lauren, I love you. I have since I first showed up. I'm sorry, I can't do this" she said, getting out. I turned off the water getting out to see what was wrong. She was crying into her towel. I kneeled down next to her wrapped in my towel. "Baby girl..." I said, touching her leg. She looked up at me. "Lauren I'm nobody. I don't have an identity, I'm nothing" she cried.

In bed, she had cried herself to sleep. I took that time to register her for school. I used the name Normani Kordei Hamilton. Believable enough. Tomorrow she'd have an identity.
