Harper's POV
After a 30 minute drive into the "country" part of town I unplugged my phone from the aux cord and stepped out of the car. Abby gathered her things and followed me inside.
Kent's parties may not be that crowded, but they were sure as hell a lot of fun.
I scanned the area and saw basically everyone from our small school, and everyone was in their little groups.
I saw the populars, which consisted of 6 girls talking about how they're gonna flirt with every cute guy at the party.
I saw the band geeks, who everyone was acquainted with.
I saw the football players, who were also friends with just the players in general.
And then there was my group. We weren't really identified under a category, which is what I liked.
"Why are you guys so late?" My our friend Claire jokingly said as we approached them.
"I know, we've been waiting all night for you two!" Our other friend Kasey joined in.
"Sorry, I guess you could say we were fashionably late?" I hinted.
"You guys wanna go swim? This is actually what I've been waiting for all night." Our friend Christina whined as she walked up to us, a drink in her hand.
"Whatcha got there, Chris?" Abby said, gesturing towards her cup.
"I have no clue, some unidentified boys gave it to me. They were hotttt."
"This bitch." Claire chuckled and slightly nudged us all, wanting to go swimming.
"Okay, okay, you don't have to man handle me." I sped up my pace and walked outside.
"Say, Chris, what did these unidentified boys look like?" Abby asked, typical.
"Ohh. They. Were. Gorgeous. Brunettes, Tall, Jawlines for days. Ugh. Someone down to get another drink with me?" She asked, probably wanting to see them again.
"You know, you probably shouldn't be drinking that, you don't know whats in it." Kasey snatched the cup away from her and poured it into the grass.
"Hey, that was my cup!" Christina said and fake pouted.
"But yeah, I'll go meet them with you." Abby said and grabbed Christina's hand and walked back inside.
I chuckled and found a table with 6 chairs where we could keep our stuff while we swam. Only a couple people were in the pool, including some of the jocks.
I took off my clothes left in my bathing suit. Claire and Kasey did the same.
"Lets goooo." Claire grabbed our wrists and we ran and jumped into the water. The cool blanket of water slipping from my toes, to my head. I let go of Claire's wrist and began swimming on my own.
I felt something touch my toes, which tickled. Geez don't people know about this thing called personal space?
I turned around and was face to face with the jock himself, Justin Brookes.
I ignored his presence and went up for air. I guess he decided to join me.
"So whats a beautiful girl like you doing swimming alone?" He asked once we reached the top.
"I'm not." I crossed my arms.
"It looks like you are." He took a step closer. "And your cute when your mad." I turned around to see my friends all sitting at the table. I rolled my eyes and turned back to Justin.
