*Matthew's P.O.V.*

"Mr. Espinosa," the general smirked as he turned around in his chair to face me. The gaurd sat me down in a chair across from the general's desk and handcuffed my left wrist to the chair. Then, the gaurd left the room.

I watched as the general kept his eyes on the gaurd until the door was fully shut.

"Isn't it great to see you? I've heard many things about you and I'm absolutely thrilled that you can join us here at Fou." He said sacastically. The grin that sat upon his face made me want to barf.

I bowed my head at the man and looked back at him. This was the first time I actually picked out his features. He looked about 6'3 and he had dark colored eyes. His facial hair told me that he was due for another shave. His brunnet scruff resembled sand paper. His hair looked short but I couldn't tell due the brown sherif's hat he was wearing. The hat was accompanied with a black suit.

"Not much of a talker, eh?"

I shrugged and looked down at the floor yet again.

"Do you know why you're hear, Mr. Espinosa?"

I ignored his question and continued to stare at the dirty floor.

"Tell me why you're hear, sir."

I looked back up at him, right into his devil eyes. Gosh, I hated this guy and I barely knew him.

"You got the wrong guy," I mumbled.

"What was that?"

"You got the wrong guy!" I spoke louder making him jump slightly.

He shook his head and let out a slight chuckle, "Ah son, I know you're my criminal. Now make it easier for yourself and tell me what you did to get yourself thrown in here."

I ran my fingers through my greasy hair and bit my lip. I wanted to get up so badly and slap this guy across the face. "Why you askin' me if you already know?"

"Because, I would like to know why you think you're here."

"Ya'll a bunch of jackasses that found the first guilty looking kid you could find and threw me in here with the rest of your delinquents. That's why I think I'm here. I'm mistaken just like Lexi and Justyce and Mackayla."

"Oh, so you met some lady friends? I hope you know that dating other patients is against the rules here at Fou."

"I was told to make some friends so I did. I hate that everyone says that. Just because a guy and a girl are friends doesn't mean they're dating, damn."

The general nodded and scribbled a couple of sentences down on a clipboard.

"What are you doing?" I asked leaning forward as far as I could before the hand cuffs could give me a blister.

"None of your business, Espinosa."

I leaned back and rolled my eyes.

"Man period or something?" The general snickered.

"Listen buddy," I snapped, slamming my right hand onto his desk, "I didn't do nothing to get myself sent to this hell hole. So you're gonna let me outta here before I kill your ass."

The general smirked again and began clapping, "That's exactly what I wanted to hear. You've been sent in here for murder."

I chuckled and looked back down at the ground. There was no way.

"Now I know what you're going to say, kid. I hear it from a bunch of people like you, every single day. I ain't no murderer. I didn't do no such thing. Don't be accusing me something I didn't do. We know what you did, Matthew and believe it or not, we're here to help you. You'll be starting some classes here in a few days. If you can prove that you don't belong here, we will send you to a regular prison for a year and you'll be free. Of course you'll have probation and court dates but that's the easy stuff. However, if you don't pass these classes and prove to us that you can't get out of here, you'll be in here forever. Much like your friend, Max."

"I didn't drop out of high school to be thrown back into classes, sir."

"You're attitude has something to do with it too. I like you kid, I want us to be friends. Always be friends with the boss, gets you good promotions."

I looked up at him confused. He's just saying this to make me suck up to him. Ugh, I hated that nasty smirk.

"And don't worry, these aren't any normal classes. You'll be in classes to free you from being a murderer. I'm not putting you in a class where I'm making you write equations for slope or something."

"Y = mx + b," I said confidently as the gaurd walked back in and uncuffed my wrist then he lead me towards the doors. He started walking me out of the room, before we fully left I turned back around to face the general again. He sat there with a shocked look on his face.

"Just because I dropped outta school, don't mean I didn't learn something."

The gaurd brought me back to the community room where I saw Lexi and Sophia sitting on a couch together. Max was nowhere to be seen. Regardless, I sat next to Sophia and looked at the paper they were both writing on.

"Whatcha doing?" I asked in an excited tone.

"We're making an esc-"

"NOTHING!" Sophia yelled, interupting Lexi. She took the paper, folded it up, and stuffed it down her bra.

I looked at her and raised an eyebrow.

"Don't give me that look," she chuckled slapping me lightly on the shoulder.

I raised my eyebrow at her again and crossed my eyes as I did.

"STOP IT!" She laughed slapping me in the same place but harder this time. I let out a small laugh before she spoke up.

"So, Lex told me you had your first meeting with the general today?" She asked getting all serious suddenly.

I nodded awkwardly.

"So, how'd it go?" Lexi asked, mimicking Sophia's tone.

"Let's just say, I had the last laugh."

They both smiled at me.

"I like you, Espinosa," Sophia said happily.

I like you too, a lot.
