The next morning I woke up and got dressed. Jean shorts, green button-up shirt with a black undershirt, and my black converse. I wasn't very hungry after last night so I had only a muffin for breakfast.

The movers came very shortly after that. I helped them place my furniture in my room. After they were finished my room was looking pretty good. I smiled taking one last look at it before heading downstairs. My mom was helping the movers in the living room.
"Hey Amanda, would you mind taking Petey for a walk? He's getting kind of antsy being stuck in the house." She stated.

"Um yeah sure mom." I answered.

I got Petey's leash and hooked him up. We left the house and went down the driveway. That's when Petey started barking like crazy over at the woods across the street.

"Petey what is it?" I asked.

He tugged on the leash and began pulling me over. I didn't know what was his problem. He yanked me into the woods and into the shade. With one strong tug he ripped the leash from my hands and took off running.

"Petey!!! Petey come back!!" I yelled, running after him.

He disappeared into the bushes, so I could only follow the direction of his constant barking.

"Petey!!! Petey! Where'd you go Petey?! Pete-woah!" I called, tripping over an uprooted tree root.

I fell to the ground, onto the dirt. When I lifted my head up, I saw two black sneakers standing in front of me. I looked up into the face of a boy. The boy!

He had dark blonde hair and big icy blue eyes. He wore the same jacket as yesterday with a white tshirt underneath and more dark colored jeans. He was gorgeous.

"Are you ok?" He asked, his voice came out deep and smooth as he held out a hand to help me up.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I said, taking his hand getting up.

I gasped a tiny bit on contact; his hand was cold, very cold.

    He smirked. "I'm Ray Thurston."

"Amanda Benson. I just moved here yesterday." I greeted.

"I know. I watched you guys move in." Ray smiled a bit saying this. He had a handsome smile.

I blushed a bit now. "Yeah, I saw you." I answered.

Just then Petey came running over. He began snarling and barking at Ray. He stepped back a little.

"Petey! Petey what's gotten into you? I'm sorry, he usually doesn't act like this. He's normally very friendly." I explained, tugging on Petey's leash to try and calm him.

"That's ok. I guess he'll just have to get used to me." Ray smiled.

Then Ray took a step forward and brushed my cheek with his hand. I jumped at his icy touch.

"You've got dirt on your face." He spoke, rubbing it off with his thumb.

"Your hand is so cold..." I blurted.

"Sorry. I've got the world's worst circulation in my hands." Ray laughed.

"Oh." I replied, smiling a bit.

Ray took his hand off of my cheek, smirking. I began to wonder if I should ask him about seeing him in my house last night.

"What's wrong?" Ray asked. Damn, my facial expression must have changed.

"Huh? Oh, it's nothing. Really." I assured.

Ray raised an eyebrow at me. But then smirked again.
