The First Competition

Today was our first competition and we were all really nervous. Even worse, Mikayla had given Ryan six tickets to the competition and he was bringing Nathan, Michael, Anthony Ervin, Connor Dwyer, and Conor Jaegar with him. Great, so now all of them can see me mess up. I groaned in frustration.

Eventually, it was time for all the teams to go out, and we soon were called and the crowd screamed so loud. In the crowd, I could pick out the boys, they were standing up screaming too. First up was China, then Russia, then Japan, and finally it was our turn. Aly was the first to do the floor exercise, then Gabby, and next was me.

As soon as I landed, the crowd erupted into cheers, I grinned and ran down to the girls and my coach were waiting for me. "I'm so proud of you," Elisabeth, my coach said to me. The girls attacked me with hugs and in the stands I could see the boys cheering.

Soon the other girls went and it was time to time to see which teams qualified to the semi finals. We all held our breath, and there were in first place above Russia! We all cheered and hugged each other.

We exited the gym and saw the boys waiting for us. "You guys did so well," Michael said, specifically hugging Jordan first, then the rest of us. "So, we'll be expecting you guys at the pool tomorrow," Ryan said, while wrapping his arms around Mikayla. With Nathan standing next to me, I replied "definitely."

As we were walking back to the Olympic Village, Nathan wrapped his arm around my shoulder and said, "You were amazing out there." I grinned and and replied with thanks. "So tomorrow, do you want to get coffee in the morning?" I smiled,"yeah I'd like that." "Wait, i need your number," I said holding my phone out. Nathan grabbed my phone and put his number in. He kissed my cheek and said," goodnight babe." I smiled and said, "night."
