Mating to a Dragon

Chapter 1, Paranormal Life 101 :)

Darwin's law of Survival of the fittest is more pertinent than which most biology teachers know, it is the basis of my entire society.  Monsters of every shape and size, packing different styles of magic, duke it out to claim better positions and status. Of course humans are at the very bottom of the chain, with no magic or strength to combat the others. Then comes ghouls and goblins, leprechauns and trolls, Elves, Witches and Wizards, Demons, Werewolves, Vampires, Fae, and at the very top the Dragon shifters. Those who have more power through physical or magical means have more influence of those below them and are naturally made into Masters. When the Masters find their mates, the mates are forced to obey every command of the master, whether they like them or not.  

Generations of such elitism has made the lines between species grow deep, and the feelings between them grow very strong, to the precipice of an inter-species war which would have decimated the world. 

Fortunately the gods stepped in. In an attempt to strengthen "inter-species relations," the gods have made it mandatory for different species to interact while at The school of Dragvista, in DragosVeria. And the gods have made it so the top five cannot find mates within their own species. The Gods are hoping that by adding diversity they may be able to breed compassion into these power hungry lines.

DragosVeria is a beautiful, magical, pocket dimension, which was created early on by the Dragon Mages so that they may have peace and quiet away from panicking mortals and their knights. Other species have their own realms, but the gods deemed DragosVeria as the safest place for these young immortals. Of course the fact that the dragons are favored by the gods didn't effect the decision at all...please pick up the sarcasm. 

So to enforces inter-species relations when one gets the of invitation to join the school, you cannot refuse, or else dire consequences. Dragvista is no Hogwarts.

My name is Serena Moon-fire, born from the Moon-fire witch clan which has the ability to create purifying fire from moon beams.  I am not the brightest or strongest like my older brother, Darian, nor am I beautiful and perfect like my older and younger sisters. Yet I am the one who received the invitation to enroll in Dragvista. Whoopee...great. I get the pleasure of being surrounded by snobs.
