Later that night, I heard Julia had hooked up with a kid named Mark.
what a great Halloween.
I called Ally in case she could be of help in this situation, but all she could talk about was Dominic and how she kissed him and how happy she was that it was going to work out this time.
it was a short call, because i was tired and sad and not even Ally was of help right now.
A mere two days later, Dominic called me up.
"i need your help." He said
"sure," i replied.
"tell Allison nicely that i dont like her and i dont want to date her and i just want to be friends." he blurted.
"are you kidding me?" i scoffed.
"do it, or im never sharing with you any girls' nudes that ive gotten ever again."
i rolled my eyes and hung up.
it was probably better that she heard from me anyway, he would probably just break her heart again.
i dialed Allison's number and waited.
"Hey!" she said cheerfully.
"i have to tell you something." i mumbled.
I told her that Dominic didnt want a relationship right now and he just wanted to be friends.
"but..." her voice drifted off.
what i really wanted to say was-
get your head out of the gutter, Ally. Hes never going to commit to you. he never has. move on.

But of course i couldnt say that.
i had to be nice and be there for her when she needed me because thats what friends do.
she was so upset.
she called Dominic, and told him to give her space.
So Dom didnt talk to her for a solid month.
She was still upset, but she realized that she has to get over it.
"He left me high and dry." she sighed.
"Yeah, you pretty much got screwed over."
i said with my mouth full of oreos one night.
Julia quit talking to me altogether.
She decided that i just wasnt for her.
i guess she was right.
One friday night, Ally was over my house.
we walked to the ice cream place a couple blocks away when we noticed that there was a puppy, loose, outside on its lawn.
Ally pointed at it and called it over.
the dog ran happily to her, wagging its tail.
She scooped it up and we rang the doorbell to the house.
"Oh, thank you kids so much!!" the woman exclaimed as she held her pet.
We smiled and left her house.
"have you heard from Julia?" Ally asked me.
"Nope." i replied.
"im sorry," she said back.
"its fine. it wasnt really that stable of a relationship anyways." I said and looked up at the sky.
she nodded and looked at the sky too.
i noticed a shooting star and made a wish inside my head-
dont let Dominic make her so upset again.
that night ended with us sitting on my rooftop, watching stars.
