Over the next few weeks, ally and i grew closer.
i helped her to move on from Dominic.
i dont know how, but i tried my best.
I could still see how her smile didnt quite reach her eyes sometimes and how her eyes would water just the slightest bit and the mention of Dominic's name.
she was hurting.
and there was nothing i can do.
Meanwhile, Dominic and i were not talking as much- mainly because of Ally.
"Are you going to Hailey's halloween party?" i asked Ally one night over facetime.
"Yes, are you?" She replied.
Her hair fell in front of her face, and she subconciously pushed it away.
"Yeah," i responded, "Are you dressing up?"
She was quiet before saying, "mhm, i have red devil horns and red shirt. im guessing you arent doing anything like the rest of the guys."
i laughed, "you got that right."
The night of the Halloween party, Ally kept looking at Dominic, trying to catch his gaze, but he didnt even give so much as a glance in her direction.
She looked down at her hands.
She was wearing black leggings, light brown boots, and a red shirt with her devil horns.
A while into the party, she asked me for a ride home.
i made sure it was okay with my mom, and then let Ally know we could drive her home.
"Uh, just letting you know, we are driving Dominic and Hailey too." i told her.
Her eyes flashed at the sound of Dominic's name, but she nodded.
I hopped into the front seat, and saw that Hailey was sitting in between Dom and Ally.
Dom had no trouble flirting with Hailey, and she gave him a hug as she left the car.
Me, being the good friend i am, thought it was a good idea to drop off Hailey first so maybe Ally and Dom could work things out.
I looked into the reflection in the windshield, and saw that Dom had moved into the middle seat to be closer to Ally.
I kept a conversation with my mom to keep her distracted from them in the backseat.
I kept my eye on them, not trying to be creepy, but i knew Dominic was going to make a move.
He slid his arm around her waist, and she bit her lip.
"I miss you," her voice practically crumbled. she sounded so pathetic.
"i miss you too," he said, and i could tell he partially meant it.
He wrapped his arms around her in a hug, and she kissed him.
It was a short make out, but i could tell she was happy.
it slightly pained me, because i know he wasnt going to commit to her, he just played her.
But Ally, she thought that maybe this time it was going to work out.
it wouldnt, Ally.
i should have warned her.
