Kaoz's POV

I woke up, in a room.

Pitch black.

Nothing.

Everything, drowned out from my soul.

I was on a hard floor, and sat up.

I tried to talk, but to no avail.

They drugged me.

I struggled to get up, but I sat motionless in this state.

They got me.

Asuki's POV

That guy back there... he saved us...

I wonder what happened to him.

I remember him clearly.

"Asuki? Asuki??? Asuki!" 

I snapped out of my confused state, and remembered that we were sneaking through an alley.

After escaping the prison transport, we found refugee in a nearby town. Holed up with nowhere to go was scary.

I really wanted to see that man.

Kaoz's POV

I wondered. I slept. I wondered.

I had no muscle movement except for my eyes.

I guess I used the last amount of my sTrEnGtH to sit up.

It was clear that I was cornered. 

My pawns have been killed, my bishops taken. My rooks are knocked down.

However, I still have a chance for ChEcKmAtE...

My Queen and my Knights.

I started to regret not going all out in the first place.

My big ego. I always hide my most PoWeRfUl strength until the moment is right.

Hah.

Days Passed: 5

Asuki's POV

We had no way to get back home.

However, we set up base camp.

With all the military chasing after us, it's a hard life, but we manage.

John pokes me on the shoulder and says, "I have an idea."

Kaoz's POV

It's hard to keep it from coming out.

But how do I sToP it?

My only ChOiCe is too unravel it.

Asuki's POV

Our spy, James, had infiltrated and discovered that the man's name was Kaoz Stigner, and was being held in the prison we were being sent to. The reason for his arrest: "Betrayal to His Realm."

We tried a plan to get us back home.

And another.

And another.

All of them being John's idea.

I looked down, dozing off slowly.

Maybe, just maybe, that stranger could help us.
